I think the Fantom G is a serious threat to the Yamaha Motif XS and the Korg M3, but not so much the Oasys. The Oasys's biggest selling point for me is it's many synth engines, and the G only has one. I think a lot of Oasys and XS owners will probably buy the G, and add it to their setup, because ...

Excellent....... its either me or the OASYS.Nice choice. I think she may change her mind once she thinks about it.Unless of course the money was meant for something else.....even so she should be supportive.Sorry if you're feeling down at the mo. I think Korg should add a warning to potential buyers ...

I think we all appreciate the amount of time Dan,Stephen and Jerry have given us here.I for one would like to add my thanks for the fanatstic support they have given the OASYS and Korg community.First class.

Wish I could have gone to NAMM as well, slight drawback......a big ocean and 8,000 miles.

I think I do remember a similar thing happening with a very expensive Korg workstation a few years ago about it not sounding much different than its predecessor. It wasn't until it was in isolation that it shone through.  Maybe the Fantom G might be like this? Although I do appreciate you ...

vEddy would you say the G would be a good choice with the OASYS,I know its doubling up on a lot of things but I could see that being a very, very good set up.

I'm with you on this one as well Mike, most of your observations are similar to mine.I dont think the G was released to be anything but a competitor to the Motif EX and M3.To start comparing it to OASYS is a little silly really but everything released by the competing companies will always be seen as ...

Fantom-G's sequencer is Definatly OASYS Killer!!! As usual, Roland waits for Korg to release something, than they copy it and make it somehow better... IMO, even XS is better than OASYS... Well I wont disagree with the Seq part of your comment but as for a killer I still think Yamaha and Roland ...

I agree with Greg, Synthia, hold fire until you can compare the two.It means waiting a few months but you may love the way the "G" does certain things. It also comes mainly down to sound, what do you prefer Roland or Yamaha.I'm very intrigued by the Roland though,I already use the Fan X8 and was ready ...

- frustrated that the current seq is in many ways a decade behind where you could imagine it to be (based on current hardware and software products) - frustrated that even things that should be very easy to implement (ff/rew in stop mode, more locators, pattern edits alla sharp) haven't been done ...
