Hello first of all.

Does it really this new M3 has a so poor built quality?

I've had my M3 for almost two months and beat the snot out of it every single day. None of the buttons are showing any wear at all, especially the value buttons (see pic), which get the most abuse. Dunno what to make of the wear on the M3 buttons pictured in that Yammy board thread.

At least in the U.S., when you register any Korg product you can extend your warranty to two years.

I am sure Korg is confident of the M3's build quality; otherwise they will be burning profits on warranty repairs.

By my opinion yes, the M3 is poorly built, i think its weaker then TEX,
it is funny looking too. I had it for 2 weeks and i returned it.

No i am not aware, you dont have to pick on me, I OWN many synths,
i think i am not blind to compare or to feel them to compare, dont tell
me the M3 is something special built. Korg has their own thing, they
just keep going down and down with SYNTHS STRUCTURE.
Next one will be pure plastic, long are gone the days of TENKS like the
M1 or T3 bro...keep dreaming and comforting yourself...

I think that companies try and find a way to use materials that are lighter, but just as strong as previous models. I'm sure that these newer products are tested just as hard as previous models to meet standards. I don't think that Korg would put out a product where the ink would wear that easily. The true test would be the number of complaints about the issue. So far, with all the M3's purchased, and guys using their M3's daily, isn't this the first complaint?

Maybe it's my M3 the only one that has the buttons painted, but It's like a joke IMHO. I think I saw a similar problem in a post in KarmaLab.

I wish I could buy a Triton Extreme Rack, I also hear more sound quality in the TEX. I have to check other alternatives first, but I'm thinking seriously about getting rid of my M3, with much grief.

I'm not saying that the M3 is a s**t, but there are many details and factors that I don't like.

By the way, GregC, there is no alcohol slobber here.

I am sorry to hear that. I have heard great reports of wine from Spain. Its a country I plan to visit in the next 2 years

Back to your problem w/ the M3. I have had my M3M since May. Lets pick a number of units sold, lets say 1500.

No one complaining about the paint coming off buttons, Nada

This points back at you, bro. Do you have sweaty fingers ? Tell us about your diet- lots of red wine vinegar or marinated food ?

Did you paint recently and use paint thinner on your hands ?

oh c'mon. you live in NYC. Look at new cars. plastic bumpers. Plastic is very common in many products where metal was used. Its silly to debate this.

its not the 70's/80's anymore.

GregC, perhaps you shouldn't be so confident about the future aesthetics of your M3. As I said before, I'm not the first who has suffered this problem.

When I read about the other guy I wondered if it would happen to my unit, well it seems so.

I'm sure that others will have the same problem in the future, it's a matter of time.
