Paul can you load about 1500 mp3s into 3 different folders on your PC & then and tell me if it works and reads & opens them ALL in the pa800 ? Otherwise I'll have to get a few smaller thumb drives.

thanx

I'll give it a go tonight and report back.

Did you try any of my other suggestions in the hard drive thread?

Dnj,

Did you try formatting the USB-stick?
What brand is the USB-stick?

Dnj,

I loaded 2000 0.5MB MP3 files into each of four directories, i.e. 8000 MP3 files in total - along with 400 MP3 files I already had on the drive. I have no problem reading and playing any of the 8500 files on my PA800, although I confess I didn't try them all :D

I must say it took nearly 2 hours to copy all the files to the USB stick, and the one I bought is fairly fast although it is meant to be much better with large files rather small ones. You gave the impression that you had tried copying your files a few times, which sounds like it isn't takng too long? How long does it take? If it is too quick to be true then perhaps they are not really being copied for some reason? Have you got cacheing turned off (normally it defaults to off for removable drives)? Are you using the 'safely remove hardware' option in your system tray? ......although this is only really necessary if cacheing is enabled.

Have you tried reading the contents of the USB stick on another PC rather than the PA800 after copying the files?

I am guessing you live in the USA otherwise you could have sent me the stick and I could have tried to locate the problem for you. Anyway I hope you can get this sorted.

Best Regards
Paul.

I think, the USB storage size doesn't matter at all. PA800 will support whatever USB s.size

Paul....thanx so much for testing the TD for me ....that all I want to know .....the problem must lie in the drive itself...it could be a cheap no name brand I dont know....on my PC 2.0 usb took about 20 min for 1600 mp3's.

But I will look for a 4g or 8g Corsair Voyager asap now that I know it works ok on the Pa800...I will report back soon..........

stay well
