What can i hook up through the padkontrol?

I love my padkontrol, but as you all know it's not as good as having a keyboard for synths or piano "sound making". If i was to get a keyboard, what do i need to have for the keyboard to be able to go "through" the padkontrol, so i can use the PadKontrol's "stuff" in Reason?

like, say one of the Combinator patches is called "Bass Synth". I want to be able to hook up a keyboard and still use "Bass Synth" for the keyboard sound.
