Hiya, no need to shout. ;)

Don't hold me on this, but I think the 3.1.2 added a so-called "10's hold" feature, which allows you to enter a single digit to jump to a neighbouring patch in the same 10's value, as opposed to having to enter a 2 or 3 digit patch number.

For example, say if you were using the patch #107, you could simply press "3" and it would jump to #103, as it is within the 100-109 (ten) range. However, if you wanted to jump to patch #99 or #110, then you'd have to enter the full 2 or 3 digit number as it is outside of the "ten" that you are currently using.

Or something like that, anyway, I've never actually used it. When auditioning I simply select the drop-down menu showing all the patches and press the safety-pin button to hold it there so I can scroll through it and select any at random, instead.

I think that its mostly used for the Korg Trinity V3 version. I don't know exactly what it adds, but it works perfectly for me. You are always encouraged to use the latest version if it applies to your system. But if it aint broke, don't fix it.
Best,
Musikman

Whatever the upgrade involves, it wasn't important enough or needed in the USA, because Korg didn't release it for the US market.

Triton Studio V2.02.........."This is a minor upgrade for the lead-free CD-RW1 and contains no bug fixes or improvements of functions".
Not posted at Korg USA, but was posted at Korg UK.

I would assume that the Trinity V3.1.2 is in the similar vein as the Studio V2.02 upgrade, not applicable to all markets.
Since Korg didn't release any info on the upgrade, you'd probably have to contact them to find out what V3.1.2 entails.

Good question, made me google ... and find the answer in this same forum! It has been answered in 2002 by Jerrythek, Product Manager, Korg USA. Quoting his message of January 29, 2002:
Well I just looked back in my records and found the 3.1.2 "fix" - it was an obscure one.
In version 3.1.1 if you did not have the MOSS board installed and used the assignable foot pedal as a modulator it would not work right. If the MOSS board was installed it was fine.
Now, if you don't have the MOSS board installed you likely would be using 2.4.1 which has no problems.
So it was a small bit of "housekeeping" release which we didn't deem important enough to post unless someone reported the problem.
Click here for the whole thread.

Cheers,
Rutger
