I'm trying to double up certain sounds in the sequencer to create some thickness to a drum drack as well as a flute track.
I copied one drum track to an open track (did the ame with a flute track), programmed the same sound and was playing with offset and swing to no avail. Just get a flanging/chorusy sound. With the flutes I get sounds dropping out. In short, I'm thinking these are wave/phase phenomena. How can I get it to sound truly like multiple artists playing? Do I change the pitch on one of the patches somehow?
Thanks!

Well CHORUS is nothing more then doubling 2 tracks and offseting them,
thats why you get a chorus effect. What you wanna do i dont really think
you can do it on the synth, thats mostly done in mixing procedures.
Try doubling and then use different EQs on both tracks and different DYNAMICS.
I do that all the times but i do it in PRO TOOLS or CUBASE 4.

It maybe worth taking a sample of both tracks, and then using the samples rather than the live sound if you know what I mean.
At least then you shouldn't get the issues of one flute taking over the other in terms of priority.
