PC Connected to TExtreme

Post by mstern »

I've finally gotten around to connecting my Extreme to my PC, primarily to use Sonar and SoundEditor. I have one question that I can't find an answer to in the Parameter or Operating Manuals.

Background:
Triton Extreme 96M Ram, OS=1.05, 512M CF card
PC Dell running XP Pro, Korg USB-Midi Driver installed
PC connected via USB to B USB port on Extreme

In order to "see" the Triton's CF, I select MEDIA->UTILITY->USB STORAGE MODE and reply Yes to the Are You Sure dialog.

The Dialog then says "Processing" with an Exit button available.

As soon as I select yes, my PC shows the Triton CF as a drive and I can access files on the triton or move data from my PC to the CF card. However, the dialog box on the Triton continues to say "processing" even after 15 minutes or so. I can't do anything with the keyboard until I exit the USB Storage Mode. Is this how it works or am I missing something.

TIA,
Michael

hi Michael.
That sounds about right. When TE is in USB/Storage mode, you cannot do anything on the actual Triton its self. So that is perfectly normal nothing to worry about.

Korg should have named it something like "Connected" instead of "Processing".
However, if you see Processing, you're good to go.

Thanks to all for reassuring me. Next to tackle is communicating with Sonar.
