Need help with MIDI set up with PA1X with CUBASE!

Post by AtinDallas »

How do I set up the midi in PAX1 to play back in CUBASE SX? I want to be able to play the VST instruments. If anyone could help or send me the set up, I would really appreciated. I just purchased the PRESONUS FIRESTUDIO PROJECT and it came with CUBASE LE4. Thanks a million!!!

Cubase midi setup

I have Cubase SE, which is not the same as yours so I don't know if I can help you. You say you want to play the VST instruments which are in Cubase, so why do you need the PA1X, which has the better sounds?? Let me know what kind of MIDI interface you have and I'll try and help

It is so simple .
When you are in CUBASE you have to be on PA1x in SEQUENCER mode. To use PA1x's sounds you have to import from MIDI devices of CUBASE the sound XML of PA1x that is on KorgPA site free(on software place)

Atindallas, I am a Cubase SX 4 user. You mentioned the VST instruments in the same breath as the Pa1x. This may have been a oversight.
The first thing you want to do is upload the scripts for the Pa1x instruments as mentioned. Go to Korgpa.com they should be there. Next, go to the below mentioned site. There you will see a graphic illustration and directions of placing the script into Cubase. Let us know how you came out.

Go to the Korgpa.com site. Drop down the menu bar on your left and enter the software section. Go to the bottom of the page and find:

Steinberg - Nuendo, Cubase pa1x_nuendo_cubase.zip (63 KB)

Have fun. :)
