Send Metronome or Click to Drummer
Any advice on the options or best way to send a click(or metronome) to the drummer?

I do this a lot. I've found basically two choices:
1. Create a sequence and make one of the tracks a click track. Assign the output to something other than L/R.
2. Use Karma. I do this a lot, because in my live playing, I don't always have an exact measure map. Here's a rough procedure. I'm sure I have a bunch of details wrong, but this may help you with where to start looking.
To use Karma, make a combi with the sounds you want, and assign a spare track as a drum track. Set it to a free MIDI channel other than Global. Assign the output to something other than L/R.
Set one of the pads to output just a single note to that channel - I think G#4 is cowbell (away from the board at the moment).
Pick a very simple Karma GE, asign the MIDI channel to the channel of the pad and drum track.
Turn Karma on and turn on latch.
Play the pad. Hopefully you'll hear something on the output you assigned above. Use the Karma range slider to limit the GE to just a single note and adjust the pad note until you get the sound you like.
Set the tempo with the tap button or knob.
If I have a minute, I'll try to get more specifics of exactly what I do, since I can't remember too many details at the moment.

What an excellent answer, above. I wasn't even thinking about using KARMA to play a click track. Doing that in a Combi is a nice alternative to Song mode and the metronome.
If you aren't familiar with assigning the metronome to other outs = L/R, 1 - 8 - check out the first 40 seconds of THIS video.

Here is another option:
I use the 16 tracks of audio sequencer for our live shows. I have mixed down different groups from Pro Tools HD, some stereo tracks some mono tracks. I mute different tracks depending on the size of the band, if it is a three piece, four piece, five piece band. I even have radio and tv mixers as well off the sequencer.
I use one of the midi tracks to control the program change for the keyboard parts I am using live.
I use one midi track is a intro click for the whole band on a separate out put of the oasys. So this click is only used at the start or when there is a break down part in the song where there is no drums. This click goes through each of the bands fold-back sends.
And then I have the main click going to the drum from another midi track.
I used midi tracks for the click because we could then pick what sound we wanted for the click. (Singers can't play live with out then, can't put in a road-case at the end of the gig either).

This is possible, if you have a spare set of Audio tracks. Let's say your groove is on Audio tracks 1/2.Akos Janca wrote:I've got a similar but different question: how to send an audio track *also* to a separate output?
While I'm running a groove audio track and sending it to the main L/R output, I would like to send it also to another output for our drummer.
Press TRACK EDIT tab.
Highlight Audio tracks 1/2 (actually track 1).
Select the upper right dropdown menu and pick COPY TRACK. Select an empty destination - maybe 13/14.
Select the IFX tab, then the AUDIO ROUTING 1 tab.
Touch the arrow next to track 13 (then 14). Select the output destination of your choice. If you have cables coming out of outputs 7 + 8 going to your drummer's mixer, then select 7 + 8.
