Why do XMS 1 Entertainer board need the 32 MB Ram ?

Why do XMS 1 Entertainer board need the 32 MB Ram ?
I have now installed the XMS 1 Entertainer board from xprodata. It work very well for me. It take a little bit of time to get trouch my songs/styles and get the right voice on the right places. But I can not see why there have too be 32 MB Ram. It seems to me that the Ram is not in use ?
