Any tips for consistency on kaossilator?

Post by lensflare3465 »

I'm often hitting double of the same note or in between notes. Does anyone have tips?
Do you get more consistency if you use the fingernail?
For example height of fingers above pad?
Numer of fingers used?
Force?
Is there an instrument that provides the best learning? I figure the piano is a good one.
Is it easier to learn with more limited scales? I've been using MAP but it is still hard to get consistent.

some patches are easier to control than others, and the y axis is the key.

1. usually you can get more accuracy by playing in the bottom third
2. the octaves are not even; the first octave C-G-C is a 2/3-1/3 ratio and the second octave C-G-C is 1/3-2/3 (the opposite)
3. various arpeggiator and patch combinations can make the kaossillator seem more accurate than it is. there are many examples that work, a real obvious one is a25 with g00

i think i spent the first few days just imitating other albums. its a great way to figure out the strengths and limitations of this little yellow box.

pb

I mainly use a plectrum for playing with my kaossilator. It gives nice and accurate control and it still gives you the feeling you're playing an instrument!

paper seems like a good idea, I'll try later and see if I can re-create that funky 303-bass line from "Song of Life" by leftfield ;)
