D888 VERY slow to "save" tracks

Post by SeventyTimes7 »

I've just recently purchased the D888 and am, for now, very pleased with it.
My one complaint is after recording several tracks at once (1-5), if we want to review what was just recorded, there is an extremely long period of time waiting for the data to be finalized on disk.
For example, after recording approximately 12 minutes of music with some chatter between songs, when the STOP button is pressed, it takes almost as much time to return to functionality.
I was under the impression the data being recorded was being written to the drive "real time" and should just be able to stop, rewind, review within a few seconds. But this is not the case and is very frustrating.
Especially at the end of a long night.
Does anyone know of a solution to this?
Waiting almost 20 minutes just to review recorded tracks is a right pain in the butt.

Thanks for any information.

jerky,
Thanks for the link and info!
That truly explains a lot. I'll keep the 2 rules in mind and hope that it indeed does help speed things up for us.

I hope it helped. Learning to work with D888's little oddities takes some time, but after that it is a great machine.
