does anyone know, when we are likley to get newer version of pa1x os this year?

I doubt very much that there will be any more OS updates for the PA1XPro. If there is one, it will most likely be just a bug fix release (this was mentioned by Paolo T from Korg Italy 6 months ago)

Which is a shame really, as I think there are a couple of OS tweaks they could still do with it.

have come...update for how long? Next century???

Keep also in mind that a new software update could withold someone from switching to a PA2X...

I think you are right.... no more software updates (except maybe if some anoying bug is found they should repair it)

hum well I am stuck...????

do you always exchange an old machine of 6 years like a spouce? and find a new one? just to get again adjusted to the new one, but? the new one, would give you more? much more? wondering sometimes...

And believe it or not, I still keep my very old husband, because, I could not find a better party yet...

You make a very valid point but.....
...sadly this is the nature of computer technology - in 5 years it is well out of date
(unlike your husband (and my wife!!) who would be far far superior to any computer technology

)

Personally, I think the PA1XPro is excellent and now very stable. I cannot justify (to my wife

!!) upgrading to the PA2XPro or any other keyboard right now. I am enjoying the bit of sampling I have done (and learned!) and having most of the new PA800 styles also to add to the already excellent PA1XPro.

No, you dont have to change but doesnt also mean KORG has to replace it
or you 6 years from now, use what you paid for begin at the time.
It cant go on forever, its pure logic, needs no explanation, the synth came
out back in 2001, 7 years, 100 updates. What do you people want?
For KORG to send you a brand new PA2XPRO home now? There is another
6 Arrangers since the days of PA1X, be real!

I did to mine, 6 years ago, she aint with me nore more and now i upgrade to anything.

there is no real justification for most of the people that have traded sideways for the PA2X (its not a trade up). Most users never used the sampler in the PA1X and have no use for the sampler in the PA2X either. those that bought the PA2X more often than not never got to grips with the PA1X and so they struggle with the PA2X. For me, the PA1X is still more than sufficient for my needs at present and i am only really getting into the capabilities of this incredible instrument. I am grateful to Korg for providing the updates that it has over the years and if it does not provide anything further i know that i have had far more value for money than i originally paid out.

What we need now is a DVD that shows people what the instrument can do musically in terms of style creation and sound creation , live play etc and tricks/shortcuts in sequencing. I am still kicking the idea around in my head. If there is demand for a performers DVD i might see what can be done.

I like your message, also, when a sequencer, an arranger or else are coming to an age, the beauty of it, on the Internet, we do have lots of forums handy to try to tackle down, the new toy.....bla-bla, because, sorry to be harsh, but, Korg, when releasing a new toy, very seldom, would release some very needed tutorial or DVD, and, we struggle for years trying to learn it, or, when fed up, just using a mere 10% of it's ability, and nice, very nice instruments, you could find them in second hands store, or even on the net, because, the main trouble, is not to give at customers what they truly need to learn well an instrument...And, the main drag, always hope to have news functions on news instruments, easier to manipulate, but, frankly for sample or sounds, we already have tons available on the Net...

Then, myself, since toying with expensives toys, I did not learned better to play well music, more or less I still try to grab here and there some very often, very basic need how to understand better the softwares involved with the machine...This is also time consuming, and life fly

I think your idea is great. For me, there is only one man for the job.
That would have to be John Pacey. I have not come across any player that
makes a keyboard talk like he does. The problem is getting hold of him long enough to do the video. I expect to be seeing him this coming weekend at a music show at the Excel Centre London. Perhaps he might be willing to hook up with his old buddy Chris Whitehead. I will raise the subject with him, and see what response I get.
