What this problem comes down to is that the Logic 7 thinks it is dealing with
the microKontrol instead of the Kontrol49. I've tried to convince my
Macbook otherwise but no dice. In the midi set-up window the control device is shown as the Konrol49 as the controller though I stand to guess that the controller is actually the Korg micro. Although the micro and 49 are basically
the same machine, until this very basic problem is resolved, any other
fixes are premature in my opinion. If there are any software specialist
please inform me of any input you can give in this forum.
KONTROL49 will NOT work with Intel Macs?

Could the fact that Logic7 sees the midi controller as that of the microKontrol
and the model as kontrol49 be the overall problem. This could also answer why we get messages that our 49's are sucking too much energy. Surely the much larger Kontrol49 requires a lot more power. Although
these are virtually the same machines, when one points the arrow to the
inaccurate Korg microKontroller in the system window sure enough the
identity is that of the micro and not the dad blame KorgKontrol49 that it
should say is hooked-up into my macbook. And perhaps this is why
the midi set-up window shows the Kontrol 49 with not enough ports. If
an Apple or Korg engineer reads this please investigate this. I think you
may get a gold star from your boss.

Still no fix, eh?
I very disappointed in KORG for not responding to this issue.
I'm heavily thinking of getting rid of my K49.
One of the features I bought if for, doesn't work and they don't seem to care.
Garbage, I tell you, garbage.
Thoroughly disgusted and looking for a new controller.

Hi...
I'm having the same problem as you guys. cant get my microkontrol to work with my macbook pro core 2 duo. it's working fine with my ppc imac g5, and even with a friends ibook g4, but not on my brand new macbook pro :-/
tried with the latest drivers 1.0.8 from korg.com but not any luck...has anyone found a workaround?
thanks...

Have you contacted Korg Product Support?Purefunk wrote:I very disappointed in KORG for not responding to this issue.

No one who has posted to this thread has been able to answer my simple questions:
1) Does Korg agree there is a problem?
2) Does Korg say everything should work with an Intel Mac running Leopard?
I realize you all think there is a problem, but the absolute first step in getting a problem solved would be to get Korg to agree there actually is a problem. If Korg doesn't believe there is a problem, there won't be anyone working on it.
This forum is NOT an official Korg support forum, this is a User forum. Sometimes Korg people browse some of the posts, but you can't assume anything you post here will actually be seen by Korg.
