PAL File Viewer - New Version now available

Post by Mickb »

Hi everyone,

I have just made the latest version (v 0.3.1) of PAL available for download at http://www.dunbharra.net/korg/downloads.php

The following changes have been made:

1. BUGFIX- The full name of a file is now displayed in the listing window- before now some files with longnames had some of the letters truncated
2. BUGFIX - If you attempt to open a non PA Series file PAL will now show a Message Box stating the file is not a PA series file - before now the file just failed to open and nothing was displayed
3. UPDATE- PAL now supports the viewing of PAD files
4. UPDATE- Drag and drop has been implemented for files associated with PAL- this means now you can drag any "KORG PA" file onto the PAL icon on the desktop or the PAL window and the file will be opened.
5. UPDATE- PAL is now a single instance application - This means if you open multiple files at same time they will all open in the one window previous versions opened a new instance of PAL for each file.
6. UPDATE- The file open dialog box now has 4 file types listed in a drop down box to allow for opening PAD file as well

Hope it is of benefit to you all
Regards

Mick, you are an absolute legend my man!!

Well done and again, many many thanks for your hard work.

Dennis

PS might be a bit of a glitch with the link Mick, it goes to the menu list but does not go any further, seems to just hang??

I will try later as it might just be a traffic problem at the moment.

Hi Dennis

I'm not sure why that is happening for you, as you say maybe a traffic problem, Anytime I try the link it is working and checking the stats for my site it shows 48 people have managed to download it ok so far :? :? :?

Hi all,

The problem with my website has been fixed, ( took awhile to find a missing ">" )
It has been tested with Firefox, IE7, Opera and Netscape Navigator.

Apologies for any trouble this has caused and sorry it took so long to sort it.

Thank you all for the kind comments and if you feel a particular feature may be useful, please make some suggestions and I will try and add them as time goes on.

in the meantime, I hope you find PAL useful ( I know i do  )
Regards

Hi Robertocarlo,

PAL File Viewer is a utility which allows you to open any PA series STY, PCG, PRF or PAD file. It allows you to see the names of whatever is contaned in these files and also to export a listing to Microsoft Excel.

It is still under development and this is the third release since April.

As more and more features are added new versions will be released.

Eventually it will allow for editing ( renaming the contents, re arranging the contents, removing and inserting contents, creating new files etc)

You can get more details on my website.
Regards
