Korg M1 repairs

Post by bpm938 »

I have a Korg M1 that needs a couple of things repaired on it such as a new joystick and a button or two. Does anybody know of a place to find/order old keyboard parts? Is it all just a matter of finding people's old (really dead) keyboards and buying those for the parts?

The round panel buttons are still available as well as the tactile switches underneath. The joystick parts are no longer available, so you'd would have to find another m1/01w to get these parts. Most junked units i've come across had busted joysticks anyway!

Maybe someone on this forum can help.

You can probably order them directly from Korg, or find a local Korg authorized service center to special order them for you.
The part number for the button is 620018901. They come in a block of 4, but can be split in half if needed. The part number for the tactile swithes is 37507500. I recommend going through and making sure all the switches work before taking the keyboard apart. Replace any switches that are bad or intermittent. Replacing the buttons is a time-consuming repair and you don't want to have to do it all over again when you realize that some of the switches don't work when you get it back together.
