I Want to Sample From a Synth Module onto the Korg TR

Post by SlipKnoTCraig133 »

I have the sample upgrade installed and want to take some waveforms from the Roland JV2080 and put them onto the Korg TR. Can I do this by directly plugging the module into the TR through a jack cable? I tried it, but I don't really know where to go from there, and the manual isn't making much sense to me.

I have been sampling sounds I like from my E-MU Classic Keys. Like you, I find the manual confusing at best. When you say you have tried it, how far did you get?

I just connected a jack cable from the module to the tr, but I don't know what to do from there. Have you successfully sampled any emu sounds?

i have sampled successfully, but if all you have done is plug a cable in then describing the entire process would be too unwieldy. I suggest using the manual and get as deep into it as you can and when you get to a stopping point, you could ask a specific question.

Good luck!

If you use a computer for recording, I would recommend sampling into the computer, cutting out what you don't need, save it to an sd card and importing the wav files into the TR that way. You can probably get a better recording than through the ESB card, and have more precision looking at the wave. That's just my preference, though. It's easier than you think. You just need to get used to it. Enjoy!
