All my computers run Windows, but I understand the allure of Linux. Okay, then go with the Lionstracs, which will cost a lot more. Just trying to think of dedicated options that, unlike the Fantom G, have more than 16 multiparts or channels. Besides, I think the miKo is kind of cute! :D Okay, some secondhand 32 part workstations:

Alesis Fusion
Gem Equinox
Kawai K5000

I haven't used the sequencers on any of those. (I've only used Yamaha, Roland and Korg).

Hey Mike, I don't mean to diminish Lionstrac or the Miko. I think they both have problems in the sense that they are basically a full fledged computer in a box. This as we all know is much more different than the Oasys. The O has a stripped down Linux OS kernel that has been fined tuned to not worry about the normal resource consumption and housekeeping a traditional OS workstation deals with. I think this is the marvel of the Oasys. The Miko has a Windows Vista Home Ed. running which is a bad OS to start with anyway as it is bug plagued (i.e USB 2.0 throughthput inconsistencies). Lionstrac has LInux but it is a full blown version of Kubuntu Linux. Again you can run VSTs on it and so forth but it will have to contend with the core OS having processes that deal with basically full blown OS housekeeping. The Miko and Lionstrac are nice attempts but they really don't content with the OAsys. They are basically a computer that has the keyboard internalized instead of your PC with an external controller.

My 5 cents...

I think oassys, is very good synth but price of it as rediculus hight,
if oassys 76 costed 4.500$ or lower it's should be the best selling korg keyboard....

I think the Oasys type sounds justify part of the price. NO doubt. Also you get what you pay for. I can honestly say I do not think I paid too much for and instrument that will challenge me for years to come. The man hours and dedication to this project perfectly justifies the price. Excellent craftsmanship.

Mike and Franzip,
I am very proud to agree, also.
Took lots of work to prove it BEFORE we bought the Oasys.

I shudder to think how enthusiastic we would have been had the M3 been released before the Oasys was announced.
We had a Karma WS and Triton Studio.
. . .and Leah wanted a Radias. . .
We would have jumped at the M3 (w/Karma II and Radias option) and probably " blown our savings" and would be sad for not having the Oasys. Very sad.
Thank You both,

If the Lamborghini Murcielago cost $4500 it would be easier to buy and I'd pick one up for sure in a few months...

I know, I'm going to jump on all the Lamborghini forums and whine about the hideously expensive cost of their motor vehicles. I'm sure they never put in any more effort than Kia just like Korg never put in any more effort than Casio.

Then how serious are you? ](*,)

Take this question from somebody who had NO JOB, NO MONEY, NOT EVEN A PENNY TO HIS NAME a year ago! And I STILL managed to get an OASYS! I had one year, no payments, no interest with an unheard of $7500 credit line that I got approved for and ended up paying it off in LESS than 3 months!

JESUS GOD! SO WHAT IF ITS $7,000!!!! ARE YOU GONNA WHINE ABOUT IT HERE, OR ARE YOU GONNA HAVE THE COURAGE TO GET AN INSTRUMENT THAT WILL INSPIRE YOU TO CREATE INCREDIBLE MUSIC FOR YEARS TO COME!

HOW SERIOUS ARE YOU?!

No i jast think that cost of oassys prodaction doesn't cost 3 times more then m3.

It's not about futures it's about money...

So this is jast somethink what can consider korg's manegers about this.

what better if thay sell in the same time 3 oassys with price 7.500$ or thay can sell 12 oassys with price 4.500$.
