program sounds flat and awfull when imported in combination?

Post by dragonder »

Hi,

I adjusted a combination on my x50. I replaced the first instrument with a new one from the banks and then saved it to a new location with a new name. I was a little surprised to hear the new combi sound flat and dull. Nothing like when I play that same instrument straight from the program bank.

Am I missing something here? doing something wrong?

thnx

Its a little surprise that new Korg users always get. In Program mode, all the effects are devoted to a single sound, but in Combination mode, the effects have to be shared by all the sounds in the Combination. So if you want to get exactly the same sound, you will need to cpy the effects, too. Trouble is, that may wreck the other sounds in the Combi, so you'll probably end up having to make a compromise.
