I couldn't agree more about the clumsiness of all of this. The other day, I was editing an existing wavesequence to fit in with what I was composing, and after making a number of edits, I found that the WS had somehow reverted to the original wavesequence and so I lost all of my time to acheive nothing. The original had a very handy tool which I don't understand why they didn't incorporate it into the software version of it. That was the ability to copy and paste any number of steps of an existing wavesequence to a new locationt. It saved huge amounts of time in assembling a new sequences. I used to do a lot of writing of wavesequences with the original keyboard and rack versions of the WS, but I seem to have lost interest in doing this because of the time it takes to write them. Oh well.

Not necessarily. If you once saved the bank with the KLC-Wavestation it is no more compatible to the hardware anyways.vectorman wrote:Granted, that would basically break compatibility with existing WS sound libraries
But if you load a old hardware bank into the KLC, a better import routine could check the stored "link", copy the linked sounds from bank into the performances and open the whole set in the KLC in its (anyways) own individual format.
Compatibility is maintained this way.
So it would be possible to move performances back and forth between banks, delete some, save some and import some.
Or in other words: be able to do the basic stuff

difference with hard version
Hello
I have a WS EX and it sounds different with the KLC. Especially the Mini Lead and Mini Bass.
Why ?

There is your problem right there. Load the bank Wavestation Init.fxb and then save ram 1 as a .wsram file called Init. Call it anything but you want a single ram of initialised files. Next load the wavestation factory bank and select what performances you want to move. Open the performance page and find a ram bank that does not contain any of the patches. Load your Init.wsram file into that slot and transfer any patches that are not stored in rom into the empty patches. To do this, open the patch, click Write and select whichever init patch file you want to overwrite. Then click OK. Once all your patches are saved, you can save your performance to an empty perromance slot on your init.wsram bank. When you are finished loading your bank, save is as a .wsram file.Markman wrote:But in the KLC-Wavestation you only can save BANKS and therefore swap everything.
Hint 1. You have to save all your patches first. This will mean your performance will look for them in the same bank it is saved in.
Hint 2. You don't need to move any patches stored in Rom, or on cards.
Hint 3. All patches and wave sequences in ram3 are stored on ram 3. load you init bank to 1 or 2 to move them. Ram1 and ram2 use patches from both rams. load your init bank into ram3 to move these.
This works fine for me on v 1.6.5 on Win7. And best of all, it is much easier to do than to describe.
