Using foot pedal to advance seq mode
Okay... I usually use SEQ mode as a glorified combi mode, with a different seq file for each song... Then I put my scene settings into each 'song' and use that as a scene.
Usually I hit 'inc' to advance to the next song...
I toyed with using the foot pedal on program increment. This seems to work in program and combi mode but unfortunately not in SEQ mode? This is kind of annoying,
Has anyone got any ideas regarding advancing song using the foot pedal?
If not I suppose I will just stick with the inc button.
Or is there a SYSEX for the 'inc' button? I could concieveably program my MOTU MIDI Timepiece to transmit the message when one of the analogue inputs on it goes high...

I tried this, but it didn't work. What did I do wrong?
1) I made new songs for different sound and put them to the cue list like this: song 1: strings song 2 : pad song 3 bells ... end
2) I set "rep" for every song to "FS"
3) I set foot switch assign to "cue repeat control"
4) I went back to Seq's cue list and pushed pedal, but nothing happened. Why? I tried this with my both pedals. Other one is switch-type pedal, and the other one is momentary-type pedal (damper pedal)
I'd really appreciate if somebody could help me.

The cue-list sequencer has to actually be running in order to advance. Otherwise the sequence isn't looping, so you can't advance to the next section if you're not technically running the current section!
I decided to just stick to the 'inc' button, as i'm not actually using any sequenced note data, don't want to be running the sequencer. although soon I will be wanting a click-track. Will have to check the cue-list. one of my issues with it I wasn't sure but I think that it resets all playing notes every time it loops the sequence. either way, i've used it for an actual sequence and it made my sections loop funnily because you couldn't have any overlap on the join.
@thijst: Thanks anyway, by the way - I forgot about this post.

I just tried it. by the way the sound will cut out when it goes to the next sequence, even if FX is unticked.
anyway, its easy... as I said your sequence has to be running in order to use the cue-list.
in cue list page:
hit start/stop
each sequence will loop for the length of that sequence (and sound will cut each time it loops. hitting the pedal will cause it to move on - ONLY once it next reaches the end of the sequence. its good for backing tracks and building songs in the sequencer, but for live use i've stuck with making sure that the song is highlighted and hittin 'inc'.
you can also do that in cue mode actually if you have the 'step' field down in the bottom left highlighted. that might be useful actually for rearranging sets...

Thanks.
So, if I set sequence's lenght to the sortest, this pedal this should work in live? There won't be any backtracks, I would just use these "songs" as a sounds in live. That step field seems also a good choise, but I would rather do these sound changes with pedal to free my hands. Do you have any advices how to do this in cue list?

I noticed that I have to press the pedal during the last hit of the beat. Like this:Phazer wrote: Hi
How did u solved the problem?
Here is a cue:
song 1 (duration 40 beats) repeat mode fs
song 2 (duration 65 beats) repeat mode fs
I put sequencer running from song 1. When it reaches to the last hit of the 40th beat, I hit the footswitch and the seq moves to song 2. After all, I gave up this method, 'cause I didn't like that little stop between songs, when seq loads effects of the sounds.
Ok, but I want to use the pedal to change sounds, not songs. I play dream theater songs mostly, and i want to change sounds quick. Is it a better and easier programming to use for ex. combi or program mode? I dont have the manual becouse i bought my korg used, so any help would be helpful.Terzi wrote:I noticed that I have to press the pedal during the last hit of the beat. Like this:Phazer wrote: Hi

Rudess of Dream Theater uses COMBI mode... he just saves all his sounds one after another and steps through them with pedal... assignable pedal with program up function with combi-mode is the way to go... only not so good thing with this is that you will have same sounds saved many times...

Rudess also uses an OASYS, which can apparently change seamlessly, unlike Korg's other keyboards.
Phazer, you can find the manuals on Korg's website.
