Monitors

Post by SynthAntonius »

Maybe an other off-top for Radias forum: I wanted to post it in more dedicated section, but it seems to be "dead", so no thanks...

I know that all monitors sound diffrent  it's a matter of taste, but I was wondering what you use and would recommend for 900 euro for a pair monitor (yes, I want to buy new monitors, that's why I'm posting it - happy?)

I think I'm deciding between Mackie hr624 MkII, Adam a7 or maybe Genelec 8030a.

Unfortunatly, I don't opportunity to hear them all, and compare them...

I used to have a set of Genelec 1031A... they were awesome...

I have recently heard that the components for Mackie are no longer made in Italy.....they come from China......
This would explain why Mackies are filling up repair shops at the moment.........

If you are looking just for an accurate self powered monitor with generally flat sound with lots of power, might I suggest the new

hey synthant, what kinda music are you making with them?

i have been using the Krk v4 with my setup in the bedroom. they are great if you only have a small room, if you have more to spend i would check the v6 maybe.. i know it is not a very imaginative suggestion but they are especially good at picking up the low-mid bubbles that the Radias can squirt out at times..especially on mod sequenced arps.

the yamahas are not as good as the old ones, and a pain to listen to for long.. the Mackies are an all-rounder and could be the best pick, nicer to listen to as well. i wouldnt go for mid-range genelecs myself..
