Help? New MS20 user... no sound...nothing...

So I just bought a used MS20 controller with the old software and just found out that I will not be able to re-issue the liscence, or so I hear. I have yet been able to get a peep out of the MS20 controller. All I hear is a clicking noise after I plug it into the computer. I have the 10 day trial period so I am wondering if the controller is broken or if it has to be liscenced before it will work? The whole thing has been rather frustrating.... Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

And nor will you get a peep out of it - it is merely a USB/MIDI controller. It will appear in your sequencer as another MIDI input.
