Emx recording level?

Hey, im trying to record the level of my snares, but it isnt working. So i select the snare sound, hit the record button, hit the play button, change the level(part common) trough the pattern and i hit stop. I hit the play button to listen to what i recorded but it just shows the the same volume trough out the pattern whats wrong?

you need to hit the motion seq button in part common before recording... set it to smooth!
