Suggestion to Korg if update does come out.

Post by franzlp »

If anyone from Korg is listening I would suggest the following. If there is an update of the OS that gets issued, please print an addendum to the existing manual as some of us have had the manual printed out (sometimes the PDF format is not all that convenient). It's awful to have to reprint the entire manual again for a handful of enhancements.

Thanks!!!

Each time KORG releases an new OASYS OS, they clearly explains what the items that have changed in terms of Bug Fixes/Improvement/New functions.
If you check all the update files from 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, you will have all the information between releases and printed manuals.

Generally, the new manual is also updated, great thank's to KORG because each new Exi is really well integrated into the manual.

You can also use the built-in HELP into the OASYS to verify the new functions !!!

No problem at this level ;)

I certainly know that the bug fixes and improvements are stated in the beginning however the new enhancements are not indexed within the manual so when you have a manual that is 1000+ pages you end up having to dig into every single little section and then there are the things that are corralated within. If a new manual is required every single time it would be great if some sort of indexing of a feature were made with each enhancement. For example suppose they were to use the "Function" key with about a dozen different features that already exist then I would say that perhaps you could do a PDF type index search which would highlight each instance of the FUNCTION key new use as (ver 1.4.0 addition). The objective would be to make it easier for users to zero in on all the places the new feature affects and touches upon.

We will quite happily print a manual for any UK customer who requires it for the upgrade sections. We make a nominal charge for any manual. We dont however print the original 1000 page manuals for Oasys any longer though.

And that is a mistake since all the relevant information on how to reset the Oasys is printed there, means that if you Oasys breakes down your manul does too, not very cleaver.

Yes you can find it on the internet, but stilland what if you do not have access??. Did you also know that in Europa you can demand a full manual on spoken language of the country in where it has been sold.

The PDF manuals are included on the CDs shipped with the OASYS. You can read them in any computer, without need for an internet connection.
