Tempo on PA2X pro OS2...

Hi to all KORG PA owner .

I was out for a month and tonight I returned ...
I did download OS2 for PA2X pro ... installed (updated) my PA2X ...
All work fine (since now) ... BUT
I saw that - when I change pages (Lyric or STS... tab) on main page (Style Mode) immediately tempo is deactivated ....

Mr. Paolo it is not good maybe it can to be fixed soon ?

Other problem I didn't found ...

Thanks to KORG for its great Keyboard ....

Hi Lika,

Thanks for your message. Could you confirm what is meant by "tempo is deactivated"? Do you mean that the wheel no longer adjusts the tempo? If so, what happens when you press SHIFT and adjust the wheel? What happens when you return to the main page in which the beat counter is displayed and you touch the tempo region of the screen?

Hi Rob .

As you remember the cursor of TEMPO was always "blue" when we turn on keyboard and first page is STYLE PLAY's mane page with Volume tab ....
Now it is like that but when we want to go to STS or something else tab -"Lyrics, STS NAME , MIC , SUB SCALE and so... - the "blue" cursor is gone and we have to be aware to press again TEMPO tab to go back to Tempo control via wheel or UP/DOWN knobs...

I hope you did understand me - and did understand me KORG's Paolo and others too ....

Hi Lika,

When you change tabs on the display, the data value wheel is reassigned to one of the values that can be altered in that tab. It was never designed as a "tempo wheel" it has always been a data value wheel. If you need to adjust tempo at any time irrespective of what is highlighted in the display, you have to hold the shift key while adjusting the wheel.

If you want the wheel to be assigned to tempo all the time, then you have to be on the first tab in the display, and the tempo value on screen has to be selected by you so that it is highlighted. Even on that display, if you touch a different field such as one of the sounds, then the focus is moved away from tempo and the data wheel can then be used to change the sound, for example. It has always been that way.

I think what you are describing is the same behavious as in Pa2x OS1.10 and Pa800 OS1.60 isn't it? What if anything has changed in OS2.0?

You will have to go back to Pa2x OS1.10 / Pa800 OS1.60 and prove that something has changed if you want it treated as a "bug" to be "fixed soon".

There has been discussion in the past about how nice it would be if there was a "tempo lock" feature that allowed the data value wheel to ALWAYS adjust tempo until "tempo lock" is released. But that is definitely a "new feature request" that has never been implemented to date.

I am very sad that you didn't understand what I meant ...
If you still have PA1X pro(or PA2x pro ..I know you haven't it now ,that's why I say PA1x pro ) - then turn on it and see - first goes Style Play ->Volume tab on display .... Tempo ( on display is blue and you can change it with wheel ) ...l
Now press STS Name or Pad ... ( not values just TAB ) to see your STS names on display ... the blue Tempo still there and you can change it ... when you press STS 1, STS 2 ... knobs ( not on display) it still blue too (Tempo on display ) ...
With OS2 of PA2X pro is not like this

....

If someone hears me , please do those and confirm that I have right ....

OK, it looks like I did misunderstand, but now you have clarified it by verifying the difference compared with the Pa1x, I think I do understand a lot better. It does look like something has changed in OS2 and that this may be something that needs fixing.

Lika, I confirme that tempo is deactivated when press some of tabs and return back. It needs fixing...

I have Pa800.

When we press Lyrics on main page and LYRICS Button after we return - Tempo has gone

...
But only there we have problem

STS , Mic , Sub Scale , Pad and Split - ALL IS OK !!!
