hey guys, I'm new here, and I'm looking for a little advice
I own a MicroKorg for a little while now and recently I tried hooking it up to my pc to use the soundeditor you can download for free on the korg website
I bought myself a usb/midi interface (edirol (by roland) UM-2ex) , and it works because the soundeditor recognises my microkorg, but the problem is it can't receive or write any info to my microkorg, I always get the following error message:
CANT RECEIVE MIDI MESSAGE FROM THE DEVICE
now I looked around the internet a little bit to see what the problem could be and I did all that was suggested (turning the edit select 2 knob to midi, turn local off, turn memory protect off) but nothing seems to help.
It does say in the MicroKorg owners manual that some usb-midi interface devices may not be able to transmit/receive the microkorg's midi exclusive message
am I just screwed because I bought a relatively cheap usb/midi interface (if so, could you recommend me one that does work, before I cash out for another one that doesn't work) or could there be another problem?
thanks in advance
Jack
