Radias or Radias R?
What disadvantages are there for using a midi keyboard to control the Radias R as opposed to just having a Radias with the Radias keybed? I am just about ready to pull the trigger on a Radias R, just wanted to know if I'm making the right choice. Thanks
I use a keyboard controller with the Radias-R
the operation is basically the same, you can address the synth on its global channel, additionally you can set a different channel for each timbre.
also, with an external controller, you have the option of more controllers and aftertouch, which the Radias-KBD lacks. for example, I use my Korg TR, which has a 3 axis (x, y+, y-) joystick, two switches, aftertouch.
I think the main advantages of the built in keyboard are:
- extra keyboard which can be used in addition to ext keyboards without MIDI merge gear
- apparently can play selected timbre directly no matter what assigned channel.
