Korg said the PA2X will be the end of the PA line.
When/where did Korg say that? I'll cancel my PA3XPro order if that's the case....

I remember reading it somewhere when the PA2X PRO was announced back in 2007. I'll try and find aomething, but i'm confident about this.

Hi mrkorg,

Could you let us know where and when Korg wrote that statement? I would not rely on any non-attributable verbal remark about this. As far as I know, the Korg Italy team are busy on the next arranger project.

Thanks,
Rob

I don't know who it was from, i remember reading an article entitled :"Last of PA line" and it went on discussing Korg's exist from the PA line and would be replaced by something else. It did mention that the arranger market will continue but not under the PROFESSIONAL ARRANGER (PA) name. As regards to it's reliability, i don't know if it was authentic or not. I'm searching for it and as soon as i find it i'll post it up.

P.S The PA2X is only in it's second year, it is too early for a succesor.

Our best assurance will be from Korg either Paolo or Jerry.

Hello mrkorg.

The article on timomusic's site should not be trusted. It incorrectly says "exit" instead of the correct word in context which is "entry". Here is a bit more of the article you quoted showing the whole context ...
www.timomusic.ch wrote:Korg announces exit of a new arranger, the PA2X, logical continuation of the célébre series of Pa, this new model will begin again what with fact succés of this series with notable improvements.

Excellent sound quality, powerful Audio reader MP-3, Echantilionneur, Guitar Mode, New styles…

With a new sound generator (approximately 1000 sounds in ROMANIAN), nouyeaux styles, the guitar mode, extensible memory of echantilionnage of 128 Mo has 256 Mo, reader and coder MP3 of origin and hard disk interns, the synth/Pa2X arranger is without question a new reference! Pa2X is the very new arranger KORG, this one has a keyboard of 76 notes, harmonic pull knobs, a memory of sounds in ROMANIAN increased, a reader coder MP3, an increased memory of sampling of 256Mo, a hard disk interns and does not have internal amplification. For the remainder, Pa 2X has the same characteristics as Pa800. Here below new innovating functions of Pa2X:

New function: the guitar mode

The guitar new fashion of Pa2X makes it possible from now on to the c1avierists to obtain in real times of authentic rhythmic, arpeggios and riffs of guitar (acoustlque or electric). This new function makes it possible to simulate with a realism surprising various ways of scraping the cords, to choke them like D different technical of guitar on the keyboard of Pa2X. The result is so impressive that one seeks the guitarist behind Pa 2X!

The guitar mode appears also a tool impossible to circumvent for the recording of standard files MIDDAY and musical styles.
I think you'll agree that the translator used by timomusic should not give up their day job  I expect someone from Korg will ask timomusic to withdraw that article since it is so inaccurate.

The bits I thought extremely funny are:

"harmonic pull knobs" instead of drawbar sliders

And the new definition of Guitar Mode: "various ways of scraping the cords, to choke them like D different technical of guitar on the keyboard of Pa2X"

Sounds like there's a software model of a strangled cat in there somewhere doesn't it?

Best regards,
Rob

Hi Rob,

I agree it doesn't have alot of weight, but it seems odd that they are documenting something i read elsewhere which seemed 80% more reliable than this. Like i said the other source mentions specificaly that the PA line will end with the PA2X and a new line of arrangers will be debuted, at least if that is true it will be in say 4 years.

Macboy,

Is that a truck

Hopefuly Jerry or paolo will enlighten us shortly.

WOW!
I just received a e-mail form the Top Manager (name withheld per his request) at Korg Italy...I have been selected to be a beta tester for the new PA3XPRO!

And I'm told it will arrive to me spring 2009!

AND, everything I have asked for is in there and much more...it has the complete sound package of the M3 and over 200 new styles! I'm told it has a new un-encrpted SET file system, and a complete management software application to manage the PA on the PC! :-)
