PM me the questions in the lingo needed and I'll forward them.
Update: Thanx for the PM!
I sent it to four different places over at Korg.

booo. yeah i think i might start calling them and harrassing them over the phone.
anyway, for everybody interested in this project i'm releasing a new version today or tomorrow that will crush all the bugs and crashes and hanging threads. actually, ones already up on my site but i haven't updated the documentation for it yet.
okay still some problems with MIDI connectivity in the last version. new version up, give it a try and for god's sake let me know if it works or not!
thanks
new .exe standalone version with GUI and automatic KP3 detecting. i hope this solves all the problems people have been having. right now i only have a compiled version for windows XP but it comes with source code which you can execute in the processing environment ( processing.org ) and compile into a Mac OS X version. (i don't have a mac to do that with, so if you do, i would really appreciate you sending me a copy to post on my site ).
this sucker is SOLID. it should work this time, i know i've said that before but please check it out! still free to use and abuse of course

Very interesting project salamanderanagram!
I've always wanted a monome
probably a noob question, but if i execute your file i get the following message (windows cannot find 'javaw.exe'. make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the start button, and then click search'
Oh my god this is great...I just stumbled on to this from another thread. I know you have been working on this for quite a while but I lost interest because it seemed one needed to be a programmer (which I am not) to get this working. Now I discover you have finally put together a complete all inclusive program...this is awesome! I am so glad you built this to be all inclusive...thank you!
well, I have not got it running yet! I'm just glad it exists and I have the down load.
Now I just need to understand how it will work with my ableton live...like using the plug ins and getting what I create recorded into ableton. I've been an out board gear guy for so long and now I'm just learning about doing everything internally thru the computer. The only out board stuff I want to use is just midi controllers and a few at best and my fretless guitar. Do you have a rcommended guide on how to make your software work with abelton with ease?
my software has no need or way to communicate with ableton. (which is not to say you cannot use it to communicate with ableton... confusing.)
to understand, kaonome merely makes the kp3 act like a monome. then you have to run a monome patch on top of it in order for it to actually do anything.... (monomes are not pre-programmed to do anything, you have to have a computer telling it what to do).
so you're going to need max/msp runtime 5 (free download) to run monome patches. on a mac you need something called mmj to tether to the midi connections, don't ask why, something to do with os X not being java compatible.
then head on over to post.monome.org and you will find a wealth of information on how to use specific monome patches to integrate with ableton. there are a few, molar, pages, and sevenUpLive to name some...
i would suggest trying out polygome first, i think it's the easiest to use and understand...
the emulation is far from perfect but as you can see from the vid you can do some neat stuff...
