drms volume saved in style record?

Ok, perhaps another question that has a simple answer, but i just can't seem to find it...

I want to edit the drms volume in VAR2 (that is volume to 0) in the BritishPop style. VOlume must stay normal in the other VAR's en FILL's.

So I go to style record, select "edit current style" select VAR2 en put the volume to 0. In the rolldown menu on the right I select "write style". I give a new name and save it as a new userstyle.

I must be doing something wrong: the volume is on default when I select the new made userstyle.

Can someone help me?

You need to do things in this order:

a) Create the new user style as a copy of the factory style.
b) Go into style play mode, select the user style.
c) Edit the track volumes from the mixer/tuning screen
d) Do a "write style performance" from the drop down menu.

The above procedure allows you to change anything that is visible in any of the menus accessible from Style Play mode. You do not need to enter style record mode.

If I want to change the volume for a track in just one Var, IE: drum track to 0,in var2, can I do that in styleplay mode?

Hi Skude,

Best way to do that would be to export the style as a midi file with tags. Edit it on a PC and add expression profiles to any style elements where you want variable expression/ volume. Then import it back on the Pa2x. I don't believe you will get good results unless you use an expression profile to ramp the volume un and down. And its too difficult to do that in event edit which is kinda the other route to take.

Thanks. Sounds like more work

I have done this in style record mode, I just change the expression for the specific track in the var. I want, and write the style. Works good for me, just thought there could be an easier way of doing it. If Kor just want to have no sound from drum track in var2 he can mute the track with assgn. switch, when going to var2. Myself are running out of switches (EC5) so I prefer making the style ready with tracks expression in style record mode and write it as a new style. BTW: Pa2X back?

Thnx for your posts... Like Skude says, the problem is that i just want to mute the drms in Var2 (I only want the percussion in var2) and dont want to mute it in the other var's. Being a bit of a beginner, de MIDI option sounds a bit difficult fot me. I'll try the assinable switch trick. On the other hand, I am curious why it can't be done in record mode: is it just not possibel?
Of topic: Rob: was there also something wrong with the motherboard of your PA2xpro? As I posted earlier (other topic) my first PA2xpro was replaced by Korg for a new one because of motherboardproblem (at least that is what they said the problem was)

I do it in style record mode. Find your style, go to record, - edit current style - menu - style element track controls - just set the expression ( not volume slider) for the drum track to what you want, be sure to select the var2 button. ( if thats what you want) write the style, as a new style, if you want. I have done this for many of my styles, but you can also mute, IE the drum track, with a switch. But then you have to remember to turn it on going to another var. ( I always forget

) I like better to have the style ready for the song. It works for me

Hi after recording the factory style to a new user bank, I just deleat the track I don't want for that var. ( var 1 deleat drum track) etc. Paula

I don't know what it is, but things stay difficult. I've done something now in style record (i think) which deletes drms in VAR2, but only in the first chord I play, at for me totally unexpected times, the drms are there again... I also tried to save the assingnable switch to mute drms in the global, but evry time I restart my 2xpro, it's on factorydefault "microphone speak" (or something like that)

Kor , sorry you are right as explaned to me by (Rikki) you need to check every cv in the track; usually all six of them to get deleat a track in a var. you don't want. ....PAULA

Hi Kor,

Sorry I omitted to follow-up. The two circuit boards replaced on my Pa2x are the left and right panel boards that run the whole length of the keyboard. They are the boards containing the buttons and LED's and some multiplexor / key scanning circuitry.

The CPU board on my Pa2x has not been replaced. There was no fault found in it or any of the other circuitry.
