Strange. Regarding my investigations, the issue seems to be introduced with 10.5.5. My Midisport 1x1 and my CME U2M are working fine with the Microkorg editor before 10.5.5.jerrythek wrote:So this is the first phase of the investigation. If you are having problems look at your interface first, and please report exactly what you are using in these threads so we can better understand.

microKorg Connectivity
I am using an MAudio FireWire 410 as the midi interface with my microKorg and Intel macbook 2.4 Duo...I can control things like Reason fine via Midi... Also Midi and write protect is set correct on the mK but when I go to dump data (receive) on to my mac all the programs show up blank...
The editing that can be done over mac/pc is more extensive than what can be done with the knobs on the front of the mK - is this assumption correct?
Before I invest in a cheap usb solution I'd like to get this to work over firewire if possible - any suggestions?
Thanks all.

I have a similar issue using the Roland USB UM-1 on OSX Yosemite.
Using SoundEditor, I can receive the data from the microkorg (the screen lights in the mk flash and I receive all the info in SoundEditor), however, when I transmit data to the microkorg the lights on the microkorg don't move and I get the error: MIDI Error microKORG didn't respond
I followed all the steps in the manual:
- Write Proteccion Off
- Internal Clock EXT
- Midi Filter System Exclusive Enabled
Thanks a lot!

Got it to work buy purchasing a simple iconnectivity MIO
Even though everything looked fine until the end, when I was using the i/o on my Maschine Controller... It never played nice with my Kontrol S49 ports either.
However this dedicated midi interface did the trick, and wasn't expensive.
Korg support was unreachable as it was after christmas and not yet the new year.
So if this happens to you , it's probably some unexplainable madness but the MIO fixes it
