A year ago in 2007 I asked a few people the question:

While I readFT and other publications that deal with international affairs quite frequently, I am not an educated economist, hence I am just another Joe Soap, but what I would love to know is what you people think about the thesis that we could hit another depression on the level like it was in the 30s.

Do you think this is likely?

Just a few thoughts, my take is that the decelarating global GDP and overall conditions could lead to a global recession on that scale quite easily.

Although the "Morgan Stanely's" of this World want us to believe that they put correctives into place to avoid such crash from happening, well, I intend to think they serve those voltures who would benefit immensly from such a crash rather than the oridnary Joe Soap who's lifetime achievement is his house and a few bucks in a bank somewhere.

Do you remember what happened in Argentinia not so long ago when people all of the sudden were greated by a signpost in their bank: " No cash withdraw until further notice!" when the total freeze happened? I do not think that we are safe from such scenario at all. I think repossession of property could easily hit +100.000 in the US alone very quickly.

Last week alone in Ireland something in the region of € 7 billion was wiped of the stock market in 3 days.

What do you think?

Now guess what, ~70% said "Not a chance!" The relatively high other 30% was lower at around 10% a few months ago. LOL

Today, a year later, I would say, my worst assumptions turned into reality , this whole deliberate and stage managed crisis is nothing but a declaration of war against those on the planet that have less than nothing already! I am not astonished, then again, this does not minor the sadness that it triggers in my ethical understanding of life that we, in my personal opinion that is of course, would better be advised to understand on a conceptual level. In deed tolerance being the outstanding concept here to subscribe to!

I blame the media!

The concepts they sell are of a different order and instinctive level of trained wellbeing. - Consume and you'll be happy. -

Blunt in deed, but apparently efficient.

I urge everyone to step forward and make their voice be heard, in any peaceful way possible that is of course!

THESE ARE THE PEOPLE WE ELECTED! HENCE WE ARE THE ONES TO ASK QUESTIONS!

As for european affairs, if they want the Irish to go and vote again, they better explain WHY? <grin!>

Best wishes

Didn't we already do that, and look what happened.
Ireland votes no, and the government says.... hey lets do that again, only this time use your FREE vote to say Yes.

Freedom is on the verge of being only an illusion here and the greed caused by the recession is unheard of.

Hey Sharp,

It was greed that caused the recession in the first place, and yes, now they cream it even more.

Imagine that, they got a bail out, once the worlds largest insurer AIG that is, and when they got the cash, first thing they did was pay millions as a bonus to the excecutive. Right, sorry, they just do not call it bonus anymore but "retention". Sick bastards!
(CBS/ AP) WASHINGTON, Oct. 7, 2008, Less than a week after the federal government had to bail out American International Group Inc., the company sent executives on a $440,000 retreat to a posh California resort, lawmakers investigating the company's meltdown said Tuesday.

The tab included $23,380 worth of spa treatments for AIG employees at the coastal St. Regis resort south of Los Angeles even as the company tapped into an $85 billion loan from the government it needed to stave off bankruptcy.
Nov. 26 (Bloomberg) -- American International Group Inc., the insurer that said yesterday it scrapped bonuses for top executives after a U.S. bailout, will still pay 130 managers “cash awards” to stay with the firm, including $3 million to retirement services chief Jay Wintrob.

Wintrob, 51, will get the “retention” payment in two installments, the first in April 2009 and the rest a year later, New York-based AIG said today in a regulatory filing.
Cash rewards, retention? A kick up the arse and a possible jail sentence for stealing money from people would be appropriate!

If we do not clean out politics and economy, that is the boards, CEO's and executives, the policy makers and TD's in charge, all at the same time, we can not expect different results.

As for the referendum, yup mate, this is beyond comprehension.

Hey folks, thanks for coming to vote, but you ticked the wrong box, let's try that again!

Hi Bear.

The greed is at a level now where you can see snots and foam on the faces of the rich as they cream people for everyone single cent they can get. What's worse is they are backed by the government who are doing the exact same thing.

Crime is up too by 10% on Home Burglaries. Which in turn gives Eircom Phone Watch extra business. The funny thing about that is they report the break-ins as they are happening to the unresponsive and undermanned Garda which have very little interest in this anyway since there is no profit to be gained from catching these guys.

An example of how the Garda is now a business.... More people die each year from suicide than from road traffic fatalities. But there is no profit to be gained from preventing this massive problem of suicide. Nope, they give “nothing” to that and focus on road deaths only because it's highly profitable.

What really annoys me most about that is we now we have a situation where you can drive at break neck speeds down the worst bog road imaginable, but you can only go 30 through many of your new and fantastic roads that are being built everywhere. Speed Taps is all they are for safe drivers.

I'm not sure if there is anything that can be done about all this though. As like demonstrated with Lisbon, the government will do what they want to line the pockets of the rich. Freedom is for the most part only an illusion and they will spend millions each year keeping up this act. How much more money will be put into Lisbon I wonder ? They shouldn't be allowed as we already voted.

I don't know Sharp, I find all this very frustrating in deed.

Could not have said it any better!

Ireland, a country once awash with money now raises Taxes where everyone else in Europe lowers them. Outrageous. Here in Letterkenny shops are literally empty compared to the buzz last year. People go over to the north and spare around a whopping 30% on booze, gifts and regular daily stuff.

Then the state of the health system? A f*ck*ng disgrace! You risk your very life going in a hospital with some minor stuff like a broken leg or so, you might end up catching MRSI and that's it, s**t like that happened.

Corruption left, right and center, well we always knew it, did we not?

I am afraid in January it will get much worse, many do not lay off staff in december, and the real thing will happen early next year.

May be by then they introduce the german slave labour concept to deal with unemployment, 1 Euro Jobs, take it or have your benefits cut.

The "funniest" thing is to see how in Ireland people in serious positions were proven corrupt, incompetent, fraudulent etc. still hang on and refuse to resign and no one kicks them out.

Crime is up as you said, the Garda is a pretty useless club of wannabees, politics corrupted to the bone, political opposition does not exist, geeze, we are in for a few rough years I suppose. Sometimes I do not even want to watch the news or read the papers anymore. It just sucks.

However, I hope you and family have a peaceful winter time. Not easy to keep up the good spirits, but I suppose your kiddos help you big time in that respect! :) :beer ...here is to better times!

It just get better and better.
Hope to god you didn't have a Fry this morning Bear.

The governments has just ordered the immediate destruction of all Pork & Bacon, including what you have in your home. Apparently since September we have been eating poisonous Dioxins that can cause cancer and other very serious illnesses.

I wonder where does that leave us now as we have all been poisoned.

This is some serious stuff, there's going to be one massive backlash from all this. I can see lots of jobs being lost.

WOW  I have not heard/read about dioxin in the pork here, but let me tell you this is some evil stuff mate :!:

It is also crucial to know what specific variation has entered the food chain!

....I have not found a single source on the net, whether irishtimes, independant, bbc and so on, that would give out specifics. If you should come across a link that identifies exactly what CDD they allocated for by any chance, let me know!

They speak of 200times above and jabber the usual blah blah, but no specifics as to the type and so on. In 1997, World Health Organisation group the most toxic dioxin - 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin, or TCDD - a class 1 carcinogen, meaning it causes cancer in humans.

Let's hope it is not 2,3,7,8 TCDD :!:
CDDs are a family of 75 chemically related compounds commonly known as chlorinated dioxins. One of these compounds is called 2,3,7,8-TCDD. It is one of the most toxic of the CDDs and is the one most studied.

The most noted health effect in people exposed to large amounts of 2,3,7,8-TCDD is chloracne. Chloracne is a severe skin disease with acne-like lesions that occur mainly on the face and upper body. Other skin effects noted in people exposed to high doses of 2,3,7,8-TCDD include skin rashes, discoloration, and excessive body hair. Changes in blood and urine that may indicate liver damage also are seen in people. Exposure to high concentrations of CDDs may induce long-term alterations in glucose metabolism and subtle changes in hormonal levels.

In certain animal species, 2,3,7,8-TCDD is especially harmful and can cause death after a single exposure. Exposure to lower levels can cause a variety of effects in animals, such as weight loss, liver damage, and disruption of the endocrine system. In many species of animals, 2,3,7,8-TCDD weakens the immune system and causes a decrease in the system's ability to fight bacteria and viruses. In other animal studies, exposure to 2,3,7,8-TCDD has caused reproductive damage and birth defects. Some animal species exposed to CDDs during pregnancy had miscarriages and the offspring of animals exposed to 2,3,7,8-TCDD during pregnancy often had severe birth defects including skeletal deformities, kidney defects, and weakened immune responses.

Greed and evolution

Post by John Hendry »

We are at a free for all point here in the US where the negative minded rich and wana be rich at any cost see two things clearly: there is no civil law: Lawyers get together with other lawyers in conflict so they can do what they want because there is no one to stop them under the current system: And the system is falling apart so better grab what you can before it's all gone. Trick-el down has trick-eled down to the lowest player on the negative side and the average working honest Joe is waking up as he sees he is ending up with nothing...which we know is impossible so where did the energy go? Attorney fees within the system account for a good part of it while implementing the damage to our system and preventing correction. I see this as a major unspoken and avoided subject at election time at the heart of the problem of power and corruption.

Fortunately for Life the rich, both good and bad, have discovered the reality of Nature and that the laws of mass cannot be broken or pain awaits them. Like they say on the science Channel, "Matter is real, you can feel it". The line of the side that funds the good in the world is blurred but there is one and that side seems to be telling the other side it's time to get real. It's a feeling of mass in very real motion one way or the other and the negative side of the rich and powerful screwing things up are about to be humbled by their own greed unless they wake up to reality "now" and allow a free world to wake up out of their mess to fix it for them. The only thing that will save them from their own actions now is science and that means relying on others so it must be applied to economics as well where work energy is accounted for and saved in good faith. We have enough to share and still have a democratic system that's potential grossly out weighs a free for all world of greed where the system’s energy is controlled by corruption. Such a world will not last long so I try not to feed it but admit it’s an art that takes practice as I drive a vehicle that runs on gas and have contributed to it myself. I figure the past is real and a done deal but the future is open for change through survival reactions that require proper observation of the facts to react to. We find ourselves at an amazing point in history but full of risk. It was ignoring to the point of not believing in the reality of our own sciences and ignoring the morality taught in religion of righteous action in good faith that caused our situation that is very unstable at the moment. I like our new President and unstable things are easier to change so here’s to Mr. Higgs hitting the bat right;-) See what happens….it takes time to get mass moving in a different direction of patterns. Every action has a delayed reaction and the strong force is notorious for surprising us.

I'm not sure what mean here bacause for years, Ireland has been receiving more from the EU budget that it paid (most of the funds would go into the regional development). In the context of the dioxine problem that you referred to, additional support measures were agreed by the EU to help the irish farmers.

http://europa.eu/rapid/pressReleasesAct ... anguage=en

This is just to put things into perspective as far as the "costs of Lisbon" are concerned. The second referendum is another issue though.

By the way, I think the following website (take it for what its worth) does clarify the Treaty a bit. :

well, here in the states anyway, it wasn't just greed, but stupidity, while we could have been investing the wealth of our nation into better technologies, it seemed better to simply invest in real estate securities as property values were growing faster than anything else, yet everyone kept saying the bubble would burst, now it has and it's brought down everything with it, now what do we invest in, with prices falling on many goods. Also, so far the bailouts have seemed to go into a black hole, they want even more money now and can't say where the first chunk went to other than bonuses etc.

Hi sewa.

It would be near impossible for anyone not living in Ireland to comment on what's going on here. That's why what I said might sounds to crazy to you, yet Bear or anyone else living here would understand.

It's not about Lisbon for the most part either.

I feel sick from just turn on the radio and listen to all the illegal activities going on with Banks, Politicians and Businesses. Seems everyone is being investigated, even the people who Audited the banks are now being questioned as to what they where doing.

Things are going to get very bad here long before they get any better. The downturn is not going to just last 2 years as the government is projecting. Most people now are living in homes with a Mortgage substantially greater than the value of their home. For some of them, they end up having their home taken from them, yet the builders who have housing estates around the country empty get to walk away. There's just so much wrong.

Regards.

Yes, it sickens me too listening to the BS here.

I always said that Ireland can not sustain this growth which was based on two things only, "stuffing boxes", the likes such as Gateway and Dell, and a totally out of proportion housing market, the building boom.

What strikes me is the level of corruption at hand. I mean, this is now blatantly obvious. The financial regulator still runs around with a smug in his face. No one, to the best of my knoweldge, was arrested.

And this should have happened right away. They should have taken a lot of people in the high ranks into custody, freeze all their assets and accounts, and investigate this down to the bone. They should have raided ALL banks, seize internal and external communications, and so on.

What happens instead is not only a joke, it is a disgrace and inacceptable. You know Sharp, and then you hear Mr. Gerry Ryan stating we should not hang those responsible out to dry, this would not help the situation. WTF does he think making such statements, he sure does not feel the pinch in his ridiculously overpayed position. We are down to the very same level now as is Latvia, flippin Latvia mate!

Then you hear that this Bullshitter, Rodney or what his name is, the FAS Ceo, get's a golden handshake of 111,000 euros on top of his yearly state pension of 330,000 euros, SIGNED by the finance department.

But, and this worries me the most to be honest. WHERE is a real opposition with enthusiastic people who have a vision for the future? I do not see them at all mate.

In my opinion two things are needed the most right now, total transparency and accountability on a all levels, not only examplatory, but on all levels. this system needs to be fixed from the grounds up, and this can only happen if we kick those who drove it out, once and for all!

I would think this governement has a very short window of opportunity to handle this situation, so far I have not seen enough that makes me believe they are on top of things. No one is expecting miracles, but protecting those who clearly caused this crisis and even giving out golden handshakes to government department heads who clearly abused their position and taxpayers money is sending out the very wrong message IMHO.

It is truly heart breaking to see the cues of people signing on now. :(

The other thing that worries me is the competence level of this government to handle this situation. To raise taxes and nationalize banks to 100% is very dangerous to say the least.

Put it this way, add only a few more wrong ingrediences to this mess and we do not talk recession anymore, but will have manouvered Ireland into a deep lasting depression!

This has to be avoided at all costs!

I never received a reply from Coldwell Banker despite 18 page letter showing agent involved in conflict. Attorneys in Hawaii have joined in to kill me if they can using stress in desperation to save their system of conflict and control. New President will not like this... I received foreclosure papers last night for 4k past dues with over 18 k missing in billing records. Legally, I have won the case over and over again. In Hawaii there is no law and order, just orders of corruption.

The added work load caused me to shorten a letter to press last night and make yet another HUGE discovery in Physics doing it. Particle equation solved writing judge a 20 page letter when thought of it. Nemed law associated after the judge;-) Here it is just before posting on web sites. Physics shows how music theory creates the DNA's structure, too cool....

JFH^^ When referring to the weak force observer mass movement the smallest distance can only be ½ weak cycle rate in time between the mass oscillation points separating EM and GAV particle wave time and therefore is the smallest measurable distance point to point, and is the “distance” of the “size” of ½ the observers mass measured in weak cycle time. You can see Ohm’s law at "work", “P”un intended. This tiny distance in time was what Davis was looking at: the Observer mass in oscillation, the correct functioning of the Weak Force creating particles in the Strong Force and it’s observed infinite mass observed when striking a metal rod. The asymmetry of time within the weak force compensates for the compression of the rod changing the observer’s C/G, and creates the time needed to add time to the strong force.

If you have equal particle time in the weak force (V = I x R, or g = Space x Time, one particle time) and the strong force's (V = I / R, g = Space / Time, all particle time cycles) (separate inertial frames of reference), you need to speed up time in the weak force to get the gravity/energy from the weak force to the strong force and keep the two separate inertial frames of reference in balance. Nature does this naturally by speeding up time as gravity is reduced at time of inertial frame transfer. The credit of my conscious awareness of this asymmetry function goes to Davis’s paper, which I have not had time to study in detail, and my sub-conscious that sensed it all along as written in old papers posted.^^"

“If the body is in motion it will move a very small distance, ds, in a very short time, dt, so that its instantaneous velocity will be given by v = ds /dt JFH^^ This amazing but simple equation, a derivative of Ohm's law, explains the reason there no acceleration, or change in velocity of mass within the weak force allowing "instant" or "constant" speed without acceleration. Stop/go with speed of light a constant.

The observer is a constant, you can’t leave the system, and time tells all.
They're busted now. Information is never lost, the feeling is real and based on time to measure it's flow. Revenge is bad, positive change is good, hate creates one, fear creates the other. In a world made of next to nothing there is no time to waist. The act of revenge consumes the time needed for the change in direction. Take your pick....its not that easy. Last night I just let it go...and got my reward to push this in the right direction. If asked who I wanted to spend an hour with, Davis or Einstein, I would have a hard time picking because of Davis's time working with the Professors equation and his acquired experience and observations building the A bomb. I could leave his name out for credit of his work, (ton of great equations to go over) but that's not how it works. His lifetime and CREDIT of knowledge get added and keep mine safe after adding the Higgs mass observer into the weak force cycle of observation in time using his equation to answer a problem I had. If they say I am wrong, they say his observations were wrong too as my work attracts attention to fix up he house a bit.

If the parts fit, put them together and turn it on, but wait for them to all be added and come together. Hay, that's what the Beatles said....will someone please close the door? I am hearing an echo....and its getting louder all the time. Never underestimate the power of the weak force when it is in sync with the strong force, and run and hide when its not….the sense of mass that creates the wall is real, because time is real and its information all around you is telling you what to do to miss the next brick coming at you.

Touch not the cat but a glove...

Old School Physics Davis qoted: You can get away with anything provided you don't get caught while you're doing it, and you leave the system immediately thereafter! --- J. Campbell

New School Physics: The observer is a constant, you can’t leave the system, and time tells all. JFH^^

Peace,

John^^
