James, originally was meant to be 4GB, now its down to 258 but as i know off
and i dont really know much about Memory, Samples would work different on
Ketron, 256MB on Ketron and 256MB on Korg for example wont be the same,
Ketron will compress the samples to a different Ratio.
Meaning a 5 MB Sax on Korg wont take 5MB of RAM on Ketron.

Interesting point and quite scary if considering a purchase now.....Sharp wrote:This would suggest to me that Ketron are probably in trouble and have no choice to but to start selling an incomplete product. Not good![]()
I feel a little sorry for Ketron in a way. They have clearly come up with some new exciting technology surrounding Arranger keyboards. Nedim's review and details above are pretty exciting, however I am seeming to ask more questions by the day...
When will it be finished? There has to be a project plan somewhere...?
Can Ketron now afford to finish it?
Where will the price tag go particularly in this current climate?
Why has it taken so long? (i.e. so heavily delayed?)
How will Ketron build confidence in the product?
Hardware/software support/spares?
If the technology is that new, then there will be few qualified support engineers around?
It could well be that this is a revolutionary development in the arranger keyboard products market. Korg revolutionised the market with its i2/i3.
As much as I would be tempted to run and get one, I am now thinking about giving it 18 months to 2 years after it has been released.
Just my thoughts...
Pete

Why are we judging a machine when actually none of us is gonna buy it now? When will it be finished? There has to be a project plan somewhere...?
Let them finish whenever they finish. The longer the better for us, more features,
more stability and everything else...am i wrong? Are we in a rush? NO!
Of course they can, otherwise they would've given up already. Can Ketron now afford to finish it?
It wont be as high as we think but also it wont be as low as a PA2Xpro, its justWhere will the price tag go particularly in this current climate?
not possible, its a system that delivers 3 times the above.
Thats something only they know, they have their own reasons of improvement,Why has it taken so long? (i.e. so heavily delayed?)
changing things, adding things, watching competition.
That is something i dont know about but i think the machine itself will buildHow will Ketron build confidence in the product?
confidence, not the company...once released.
Everything will be there, it is an Open System Architecture and its probablyHardware/software support/spares?
the most serious project Ketron ever undertook.

satisfied with the support, they are not gonna give up on us on a 4-5-6000$
machine just like that, leave us in the mud.
Am i wrong?

Pete, just to clarify my self,
this was not thrown at you or anythign personal but every body comes at
Audya with the same exact offense and i think i make sense, i bet my life
that if it came out 6 months ago, at a T3 price by now probably none of us
would have have it, so it doesnt make any difference when it comes out.

In a way the hype about the Audya is a good thing because it means our next upgrade from Korg Italy will be aimed at stearing buyers away from the Audya (not that it has proven any success), but if it lives up to what the company is saying, Korg Italy will definately be at work to make better software upgrades than ever before. The last OS was marketed heavily aimed at stearing peolple away from the T3.
I have no doubt Korg will continue it's superiority over all it's competitors be it Audya or what have you in the Arranger and Workstation markets.
Pete,
There is a reputable company advertising it for the price i mentioned in my first post. Do you want the link?

audya
Looks to me that Ketron is working for Korg and Yamaha in the way that they have good ideas but don't look that they have the know how to apply them in the best way. Soon enough 2010?? Korg is most likely to announce a new arranger with all these features from Audya AND MORE but in a working state!!! At least thats my opinion.
