Hello from New Jersey!

Post by pwoznic »

Hi all,

I discovered this site over the weekend and figured why not join, I love my Korg! :D

I've played piano about 15 years, guitar about 9 and have been dabbling with bass and drums the last two.

I bought a Korg Triton Le about 3-4 years ago and that's my main gigging keyboard. I did, however, buy a microkorg today and I have to say the learning curve is quite up there, but not as bad as I thought. I'm very new to the world of MIDI, though.. I've only used the Triton for piano sounds and some various string type sounds for gigs.

I really want to get into sequencing, mixing, etc so I'm still debating whether I should go for the R3, X-50 or even (gasp) the Alesis Micron... I've heard great reviews on the Micron but the lack of buttons kinda worries me

I worry that the mini-keys will become annoying because of my heavy piano background, but so far, I'm having a blast.

I'm sure I'll browse the forums and ask random questions :D

ahh ok I'm in Manalapan, not too far away.
Just kinda picked up the korg r3 about a week ago for the hell of it, and found this site as well...pretty cool stuff on here!

You in any bands in the area?

I've been looking at R3 vids all day and I'm thinking of exchanging my microkorg for it... decisions decisions!

I play in a friend's cover band every now and then, but work keeps me too busy to do anything dedicated :(
