New amp for my RADIAS

Post by robotcito »

I need it for small shows... I want to plug my radias and my laptop to it...

Peavey KB 4 or KB 3

Motion Sound KM-12

I'm in an electro-rock band but we're just starting so I don't need anything huge and expensive... I've never played live so I have no idea which one to buy... I hope you can help me or give me another options in that price range...

Sorry about the english I'm from Mexico hahaha cheers!!

Try the roland cubes. I know they're pretty cheap :) they have this one rectangular model used for portable use maybe you can check that out

typically you'll get better results if you go through a mixer and share the PA with the singer...

The only time i've had trouble with PA is when I was working with a drummer who had synth-triggered double kick drums... there wasn't even room for the vocals on the PA let alone any pads..

Oh yeah, speaking of singers, that roland cube i mentioned previously also has multiple inputs for other instruments or vocals so that might also help deciding in case

I've had a motionsound kbr-3d for years. It works great and the rotary/tube channel can make any organ patch sound like deep purple :)
I'm not familiar with the model you mentioned though.

Its a 10 inch speaker.......and a horn.
You really need 15 inches at least for Keyboards on stage....even 12 inch cones in high end monitors crack and fizzle from keyboard spikes...
I use the HPR 3 ways from QSC... 15, mid, and high...
Time Can be Mastered,
"NOW" is the Password....
Currently running, Hammond M3, Yamaha CS80 + MM6, Roland JX-3P + Mkb 1000 + Vk7 + D110, Alesis Quadrasynth plus, Haken Continuum fingerboard, Korg Radias + Lambda, Ensoniq SQ80, Waldorf Blofeld, Creamware Prodyssey + B4000, Use Audio Plugiator, Arp Axxe ....and some soft synths.

Go with the Behringer K3000FX. 300W 15" Sub with a tweeter. I use it for my band and have played gigs with it. It's much louder and cleaner than the comparable Roland 300W, but for half the price. It has 4 inputs, 1 is both 1/4" and XLR (for vocals). It's $300 at Guitar Center.

And trust me, you will always need louder, a 120W aint gonna cut it and even in small gigs, the drums will overpower you easy.

I had to finally run my Karma and Radias through the PA made it easier to control the volume and still be heard.

For the Traynor I would opt for the 200KB as slammah mentioned the advantages of the 15" speaker over a 10" or 12" are important - personally I go through my own mixer and out to the main bd. of the PA. When I first started out in the late 60's I ran through a Fender Showman and Leslie.
