Unresponsive M3

Post by Leo_G »

Bought an M3 Sunday (3-22). Version 1.02 out of the box. Came with the XP USB, updated to 2.0. No problems. Last night I see V2.0.3. I say, "Ah, ha! Let's keep current" I download the files, put them on a USB. Run through the install once. No probs. Green box says turn off, turn on again. No prob. I go back through the install as I did for the first upgrade.

Big Problem. When the M3 comes back on, I get an error message that says I have an internal memory problem that may have been caused by the power going off. But the system has fixed itself!

Wrong. I restarted the M3 and got the same error message. I now have a $1900 paper weight. I can't load any sounds, anything.

HELP!

Your best bet is to call Korg tech support. I heard it could be easily fixed with some system file updates - but the procedure is not easy to find on the net.

Thanks for the info. I sent them an email, will call in the afternoon. I hope this works as I really like the machine (at least for the 24 hours I used it)!

I was actually able to fix it myself. HOWEVER, talked with Max at Korg Customer Support. He was a big help. Many Thanks, Max!

Glad to know that. Could you please share how did you fix it? It might come in handy for others with similar issues.

Fresh download of software from Krog site onto a brand new USB stick. The best I can figure is somehow a file got "corrupted."
