Arpeggiator issues

I posted about a problem with the arpeggiator before, but then that turned out to be my controller keyboard...

Now i'm using my Korg TR, I have come across some problems with really simple note patterns.
Using the UP pattern, and playing a spread chord, changing the top note up and down...
for example imagine a chord with 1 3 5, and then I change from 1 3 5 to 1 3 4 after it has got to the 5.
It is okay if you change the chord you are holding when it has gone back to the 1, but if you change before it finshes (or maybe its more precise than that, it doesn't always seem to happen. anyway my timing isn't amazing). anyway, sometimes it will play like so: 1 3 5 1 3 5 4 1 3 4
it will actually go back to the lower note beacuse it detects that as the next note.

from a programming standpoint, personally I would have a flag so that it knows to return to the start after the current note (thus skipping looking for new notes when on the end note).


unrelated, But i was also experimenging with a massive lead i've called 48OSC (four timbres, set on 6 voice unison), when I turned the arpeggiator on (init values, no mute steps or swing) it was not skipping steps but they were randomly shifting and skipping in a random swing way...

Arps are difficult enough to control at times, being very unforgiving in input timing, it really doesn't help when they're written/implimented poorly...
