I hate having to press START/STOP button each time I'm recording a part of the song, then having to be top-notch on timing after the countdown.
Is there a possibility to start recording by pressing a note?
I.e. song time set to 17:0:0, Rec/Write ready, I press C and it records the C at 17:0:0 and continues recording.
SEQ on key press recording.

Are you using the "punch in/out" function. Here you can set the measures to be recorded. Then start the sequence 5 to 10 measures prior to the part you are re-recording, this allows you to get into the flow of the piece prior to the "new section".

Yeah, I'm familiar with all that, thanks though!
Was just wondering if the start-on-note thing is available, like FL-style recording "wait for intup"

I'll add to this too.
If I'm just happily playing away, then suddenly find I've got something I really like,
is there an instant way of "recording" it without having to take "time out" setting up the sequencer?
ie: just press 1 or 2 buttons and start playing again, before the 'moment' is lost?

Fastest way to do it (and the only one I guess) is pressing Enter + Rec/Write, then OK, start/stop and record away.
