i believe the EA has a lower quality output, and perhaps lower end DACs. in any event, i agree that the EA has a sound all its own -- it's dirtier, grittier, and much more "brash". i often run the two alongside one another. good luck!BatterieslikeBullets wrote:So i'm dying to get one

Let's see: Off the top of my head, one cool trick is to use the audio in. Feed it just about anything, another electribe, a mic, (don't know if you need a mic pre/compressor, or just plug it straight in, so just experiment and see what works), other gear, etc. You can have the audio in button lit to have it constantly on Channel 2 I believe, or just set up the audio in signal to your liking, but give it short/long delays, and you decide if you can make anything cool with it.
A long time ago I just plugged my computer to the ea-1's audio in input, played a old DJ Icey mix cd, and just played/remixed (well, kinda) with just the one channel for a half hour or so. Had a great time with that.
Other tricks to try: Guitar pedals/FX units. Plug in any of the ea-1's/er-1's/EMX/ESX, or just about any groovebox you own into a distortion pedal, or rackmount effects unit, and viola. You can make anything from industrial beats to screaming satanic acid lines. Or maybe some creamy reverb. Or perhaps some cool chorus. Really, that's all up to you, but it's fun to try, and if you know where to look, guitar pedals and sometimes even effects units are cheap.
Have fun, experiment, and unleash the beast of the beats.

The Behringer Reverb Machine pedal is stereo, has a tonne of verb types, sounds great (unlike a lot of their pedals) and can be bought for £30 or less. Works great with the ea1
