I finally tried a PA2x pro today!!!!

Post by mikey_maestro »

Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was amazing. I love the 76 keys. I love the screen, I loveeeeee the sliders. It's the most gorgeous arranger I've ever laid eyes on! It sounded better than the Pa800 unless it was my imagination. I loved the xlr input. I love the wood sides. I thought the weight would bug me but it's sleek and very manageable. Oh, and the KEYBED is leaps and bounds better tha the pa800 and I thinks its even better than my tyros.

I thought I would be stressed not having the on board speakers but it wasn't the case at least in the 2 hours i fooled with it.

What a GEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to wait til End of June...=(
I'm in need of another PA first. I'm ordering a Bose L1 this weekend.
I'm gonna buy the Pa2xpro from Frank at Audioworks in Milford, Ct.
He's been so awesome to me!
I refuse to make a bill to purchase it. So it's gonna be a long 2 months having to wait. The excitement of the new bose should hold me over i hope.

Thanks for chiming in

Congrats on your choice Michael. I always say to people, to get a genuine opinion of a new keyboard you have to play it and that's what you've done. So many criticize and dismiss without ever laying a finger on the keyboard. :)

I think you'll find that the sound from the pa2x is subjective and depends very much on your EQ Settings and most importantly the Speaker Set. Every different Set needs an alternate setting. The pa2x has a very wide range of EQ Settings and should accomodate any Speaker Set you throw at it...

I hate the screen. It's blurry, lines shooting thru and childies pictures. The rest I agree.

I love the screen of the M3.

Mikey,

Thanks for the update and I'm pleased to read that you plan to get your Pa2xPro from Frank at Audioworks. He is a great guy to do business with and is also the USA distributor for the "Korg Arranger Secrets" DVD's that you might like to watch in the meantime. Although they were made using a Pa1x, most of the content and hints/tips are applicable to the Pa2x.

Best regards,
Rob

Thanks Rob, I hear the dvd is great. Does it go pretty deep in customizing stuff? Do you produce anything else for the PA series?

Sounds like a fault to me - have you had it checked out - my screen is crystal clear...

Re "Childish pictures" - are you referring to the "instrument" pictures? I personally prefer these as they a quicker to identify to the eye (for me anyhow) particularly when in style editing or song play or sequencing.

Cheers

Hi Mikey,

Don't wanna disillusion you about the videos, but it was a volunteer project done by some forum members originally on the Pa1x forum. We do have some stuff in the works for another DVD, 4th in the series, based on the Pa2x. But it's mega effort and we all have full time jobs to do as well. So I'm not committing to a date, especially when some of the other team members are not around to help any more.

Best regards,
Rob
