64 bit Korg USB drivers for radias others may work too

Post by radiass »

It seems this driver works under windows 7 64bit tested on build 7201.
Get the driver from here:
http://www.korg.de/nc/produkte/synthesi ... eiber.html

I was using an older version which worked most of the time with some glitches. But better than nothing.

Actually the driver seems to install but does nothing.

How to make it work:

On WINDOWS 7 64BIT

1. Open C:\Users\YOUR_COMPUTERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp and leave this window open so you can see any activity
2. Double click the driver package.
3. Dont continue or click anything on the installer dialog
4. Find the new created folder from the installer package in C:\Users\YOUR_COMPUTERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp and open it
5. Copy the file: "KORG USB-MIDI Driver Tools for Windows.msi" somewhere
6. Have 7-zip installed and then right click the file "KORG USB-MIDI Driver Tools for Windows.msi"
7. Choose the option Open archive
8. When 7-zip opens the file look for the file: "data1.cab" and drag it somewhere
9. Open data1.cab and drag and drop the contents in another folder.

10. Execute "EzSetup64.exe"
11. execute CPLRUN.exe

DONE!

An icon will appear in the control panel like under XP.

Dont expect total flawless behaviour of the driver since there is no official windows 7 driver yet.
My expierience is the driver works fairly well.

its not about to open the .msi file the regular way!

Its about to extract the contents or part of it e.g. the data1.cab file which is inaccessible otherwise.

And all that because the installer package doesn't install the driver correctly.
