valveforce declining

Post by Ark »

Hello everybody.

First of all, I must tell you that I'm french, so excuse me if I make some language mistakes, I'm not good in english.

Sorry too if that topic has been already posted, you will indicate to me the right link...

I have a Triton Extreme 88 since 2005 and there is a probleme with the valve force, which is declining. I afraid that the lamp will be grilled sooner or later.

Can someone tell me what kind of lamp (inside) it could be in order to buy a new one and replace ?

Don't hesitate to let me know if it's not clear.

Thanks a lot

It's a bog standard 12AX7 Tube.
Any good guitar shop should have these in stock because they are very common.

Also feel free to search the forums for more information. Do a search on 12AX7 and also try 12 AX7

Somtimes the model number is written both ways depending on who you buy from.

Regards
Sharp.

Your right.

I just searched through all my old emails and it's listed as a 12AU7 dual-triode vacuum tube.

Thanks for correcting me on that.

Thanks McHale.

So, I have bought a 12AU7 standart tube (I should read my notice better, It was written, so silly am I...).

But now, there's another problem: how to install/replace it ?

I say that because, there's no real hatch of access inside the Triton. I wonder if the only way to install the tube is to unmount/disassemble the keyboard.

I could unscrew the back of the keyboard, but before starting to make a stupidity, I would like having your advices...
