PA2X compared to other arrangers...

Post by Bachus »

for me as a 76 key addept PA2X is probably the best keyboard in the world.

But all those other designers they can't be totally off target. So what do you like about the other arrangers that is not on PA2X or is not as good on PA2X ?

Espescially the huge style library from Yamaha seems a great thing, but as long as quallity goes over quantity i personally like the Korg styles a lot better. But i agree that it would not be bad to have a few hundred more A-quallity styles available.

The 10" touch screen would be awesome.

I dont think i miss just a pitch wheel, but i'd love to have more other controllers like touchpad, Vector stick d-beam V-link and such.

I personally would love to see some knobs on the keyboard to, to have real time controll over some effects and parameters.

But most overall, i'd love a piece of software that allows you to use the PA2X as a vst, that allows easy access to edit sounds, and that allows the PA2X to have controll over this software with the software functioning as a vst host.

2...Saxsounds..(korg have never been able to make a good saxsound)
for the rest, PA2x is a very good KB.

I don't agree with you; I really love a lot of the sax-sounds in my PA500.
I think they are just great!
And in PA2XPro and PA800 they (are probably even) must be better!

One of the reasons I bought the i3 was the sax sounds - Korg were way ahead. Korg is still outstanding and Yamaha are not too bad now. However I do not like the Audya sax sounds at all (what I have heard so far)

Just my opinion guys.... :D

Hi John,

Click this link then click on the Pa1x/Pa1xPro icon. There are hundreds of converted Yamaha styles that will load and run just fine on the Pa2x. I think some of the files contain a Pa1x GLOBAL folder that will screw your Pa800 Global settings and may crash the Pa800. So it's good practice that before you load any .SET file, open the .SET folder and delete any sub-folder called GLOBAL (if it exists). You may also want to selectively load and merge styles into your FAVORITE style banks.

Hi John. You can get the majority of the Bonusware styles from here in one Set: 10 Favourites Banks and 3 User Banks of up to 32 styles ready to load.
