Any Triton/Mac user?

Post by Swatch »

Hi all,
I have a Triton ProX and I'm not a Mac user.

I just want to know if you had problems to update your Triton or to save/load songs from your Mac to your Triton (using a floppy, a CD or a Zip).

Thanks,
Frank

I'm happy to hear that! I'm asking this because I was using a PC few years ago, and now i'm a Mac user. I'll need to get a iOmega USB drive also.

Do you have any Mac/MIDI software to propose, or any other usefull software related to the Triton?

Thanks again,
Frank

Thanks for all this information!

I'm very newbie with all that stuff, sorry about that! Like you might have seen in the other post, my first idea was to sell my Triton and buy a M3 but I tkink I will keep it (even if I have the Triton since a while, I didn't take the time know it well, even if I can do a lot of things directly on it) but I need to make sure that everything will work fine on the Mac.

That's why i'm asking all this to make sure I take the good decision.

1) I first need to get a iOmega USB drive for data transfert (for now, the compact flash modification solution might be too expensive and useless for me)

2) I need to get a MIDI cable to link the Triton with my MacBook (Does a cable MIDI to USB will work?)

3) For the software, does Cubase is also a software to consider?

Thanks again!

Ok, now I understand what you meant; I need a midi connector to connect my Triton, and then I'll connect this thing to my Macbook via USB.

For the software, I found Cubase 5 Essential that is not very expensive. Is this a good choice?

Thanks!

In Canadian $, Cubase 5 Essential is 175$ (400$ for the standard version) and Logic Studio 9 is 599$.

It's a big difference!

Thanks for the info. Do you have a suggestion for a soundcard (USB, i don't have firewire) that would include a MIDI connector?

Thanks again!
