Oasys sequencer making EXT program changes

Despite looking at the manual(s) many times I cannot get my head around this so would appreciate any constructive help.

I am using an Oasys 76 with a Wavestation EX rig live. I use the Oasys to provide sequenced bass with a click track to live drums.

I would like the Oasys sequence to change programs on the Wavestation at the required point in the sequence so I don't have to do it live.

For info any Oasys program changes are already part of the sequences.

I know it's something to do with MSB/LSB and setting the track to EXT but don't really know what I'm doing.

Anybody know an idiot's guide on how to do this? Please don't point me to pages in the manual(s) as I have read the associated pages many times and still don't understand - mental blank!!!!!!

You're making the task harder than what it is . There is no need for MSB/LSB
stuff.
You did not indicate whether you were
a) Playing the Wavestation EX or using it as an external sound source or both
b) Which mode you wanted to use : Multi or Performance or both

Pick a track on the Oasys in Sequencer mode (try 16) set to Midi Channel 16
Open track parameter tab > go to Track 16 and set status to 'EXT'
Set Wavestation Ex's global channel to 16

In the Oasys seq on Track 15 when programming the click and configin ' it for your drummers Headphones, add an additional percussion part like a shaker - most drummer's like to groove to something (before you go any farther, save the song with just Tracks 15 & 16 as a template for future songs - use the same Percussion program and put in a program change at the top of the track)
Next ... insert the program change commands you want at the locations you want on for the Wvstn EX on track 16.
You will need to look at your Wavstation manual in the back in the Sys Ex spec pages to find out what bank commands numbers you'll need to facilitate changing banks
e.g. Tune 1 Wvstn EX bar 13 Rom 1 #44 … Bar 32 Rom 4 #17 etc.
Program your Bass part on another track and setup a track to play a part
and you're done.

Many thanks for the info.

I play the Wavestation llive and only want program changes to the Wavestation so I don't have to do it on the hop. I don't want to send any note etc. midi data.

I was hoping I was making it too complicated. I'll give what you say a try today and get back to you by PM.
