Poly Chaining 2 Tetras orrrr Prophet 08 Rack

Post by EVPS »

Looking at Dave Smiths Polychain features I've been wondering about getting two Tetras as apposed to a Prohpet 08 rack. Reason being that it would give me 8 voices like the Prophet, but also sub Oscillators and a feedback parameter.

Does this make sense to anyone. For those that are following these are all questions related to my long time search for a nice friend for my M3m and Radias Exb to play with.

I'm currently rating my options like this:

Access Virus Keyboard
Kurzweil PC3x
Walldorf Blofeld (Perhaps investing in the Largo soft synth soon to test out the potential)
Dave Smith Prophet Keyboard
Arturia Origin

I'm looking for something to really explore my sound design ideas. So many options every day I read about new ones. Difficult difficult difficult!
Korg M3m, EXB-Radias, Microkorg, Korg Wavestation SR
Apple Logic Pro 9, Minimonsta, Komplete 5
Moog Little Phatty, Waldorf Blofeld
Soon to have a Kurzweil PC3x

Just as an update I spotted a bit of a bargain on eBay and tonight bought myself a Waldorf Blofeld module.

It was not much more than the Largo download price - and I don't have to license it to a particular computer! So looking forward to testing out, having been impressed by the Largo demo - might upgrade it to have the sample loading option too.

This has made the choice of the UBER synth I want a lot easier and I will be heading back down the Kurzweil route once more with a PC3X - Dynamic VAST here I come! scary exciting times!
