Soft Synth/ Sampling

Ok So i was wondering.. is there any way to set up a thing in which i run a midi keyboard to my computer and (i need a program) in which I can just push a key on my midi controller that will trigger a phrase like someone saying "And than there was.....etc etc.." or Trigger a pre-recorded track like an orchestral piece or something?

Is this possible?

and if So can someone help me with some steps?
