Merging samples from differents .SET

Hello can somebody help me...
I'm trying to merge samples from 2 different .SET but I cant do it I already try the tutorials and this http://korgpa2xpro.yolasite.com/merging-samples.php but I'm not able to get any result because the sound or drum kit its not pulling the samples data... Can somebody can tell me if all the guides on the tutorials or in the website above are only for PA2XPRO or can be possible for the PA800 or maybe I have to dessible or enable something on my PA800? because I can load the .SET files but I cant load sounds to merge into a new .SET from 2 differents .SET files ... once again I already follow step by steps the tutorials and the website above..

Loading single sounds in the way described in my tutorial also loads and merges any PCM samples required by those sounds. It definitely works on both the Pa2x and Pa800 under OS2 or later.

Are you sure you are loading single sounds e.g. "Irish Grand Piano" that are listed inside e.g. USER01.PCG, or are you instead trying to load a complete bank of sounds e.g. USER01.PCG by mistake?

Yes Sir. thats why I wanted to ask here because I did exactly what you explaing in that tutorial of the website but unfortunatly I cant do it and I really dont know why Because when I open the .PCG and I decide to load one of the USER01.PCG ( a mean inside of that folder user01 ) its not pulling any of the samples its only the name there nothing else so I tried to load each .SET to see if there is something wrong but nothing I can load each .SET files normal but I cant combine or merge in the way how you explain in the website.. is there any other obtion in the keyboard that I have to enable or desible?? because its really extrange that cant load the samples the way how you said...

if I use the software of Babosh can I be able to do this merging since I cant do it how is in the tutorial??... or the software of Babosh its not in that level now??..

If you do exactly how its supposed to be done then then there is only one problem,
which was RESAVING DRUM KITS in its original MOTHER SET...you have to RESAVE
those KITS in the original SET and then try Loading in a new.

Well I dont know what to say starting I can say that I did download a .SET from this web site http://www.tbleck.de/u2-keyboard-002.htm to try if there is a problem with my SET's but I was able to load only one of the saxophone's that says YKmixKennyG and I could say I dont know why its like that but I'll try what you are saying so I will load my .SET and then I will resave my DRUMS KIT in the original SET from it was loaded and then I will try to load the .PCG that I want only.....

Ok after many hours (13 hours ) I believe this SET's that I want to merge can not be possible because I converter with the card converter for the Pa80 to Pa800 the free software that is on the website of korgpa.com so I tried the whole day how to do this but I cant do it if I load wave or any samples that I will make in the keyboard it will merge normal how it is on the tutorials but if the SET's are from a convertion from the freeware of korgpa.com I can not merge any samples even if I will save it and resave it in differents ways or even if I will add more samples it will load only the new samples that I added... so I really dont know if anybody knows how to merge this SET's if you know? please kindly let me know ..

Hello Paul,

Do the converted Pa80 Sounds load and play correctly by themselves? In particular can you load the converted Pa80 sounds one at a time by name, and are the correct samples automatically loaded?

I ask because I suspect there is a problem with the Pa80 card conversion software, which I've never tried myself.

Let me tell you..

if I load the whole .SET's file's it will load all the sounds and samples correctly ( a mean one .SET at the time ) with not problem at all but if I will save it and try to load only the single .PCG to merge it will not pull any sound sample that it was converter with the software I tried in all possibles ways I even try to add a few more samples and what I got it is that the single .PCG it will load only the new sample's that I add it will not load the samples that it was converter with the software it is estrange because it is in a NEW .SET and I even delete, save, and resave the SET but with no luck I cant do it... Mr. Rob can you kindly tell me if the software of Babosh will do this??? or it is not yet in that stage of developing?... or there is an other way to do it because I have my flash cards of Pa80 that it took me long time to make it and I was tired to keep changing cards every time that I need differents sound and samples thats why I bought the Pa800.

Hi Paul,

If the converted Pa80 .SET file will load into the Pa800, then when you Media-save it from the Pa800 you must specify both the SOUND folder AND the PCM folder for inclusion in your .SET file, and you must save all user sounds and all user samples. Did you do that? Is there a folder called PCM inside the .SET file you are subsequently loading?

Although the LOAD operation will load and merge PCM data from a .SET file you are loading, the Media-SAVE operation is more manual. You have to save all Sounds and all PCM data into the .SET file when you create the backup.

I did save all samples and sounds and I even before that I press SOUND and then I WRITE SOUND as a new sound and then save it all sound and samples into the new SET but no luck I even created a new drum kit with the samples that are in the RAM ( from the samples converter from the software that are in the RAM ) but when I'm trying to load its not pulling out the samples with the single .PCG I have to load it the whole SET in able to get all the samples I dont know what to say I really tried hard yesterday to get it work but I couldnt ... and just to let you know in the new SET's that I'm saving it is only PCM and SOUND folder... Thank you again Rob for trying to help me to get it work... I highly appreciate your reply's..
