hence the lack of incentive.

This is also the excuse that Alesis used for 64-bit drivers for their mixers and interfaces, although I believe now they have (finally) released 64 bit drivers.
True, but in reality, this should be a given.
Why? Because it's an investment.

I wouldn't be surprised if it boils down to KORG not wanting to put their drivers past Quality Control. Little do they realize it's this QC that will allow them to make better drivers and happier customers.

No Drivers=No Customers
Drivers=$$$

Makes the investment seem like a no brainer.

Seeing that all the korg zero's left on sale at retailers are clearance items now, it is safe to say that even if Korg develops new 64bit drivers, it will be for equipment still supported by Korg. I think the company is dropping the zero series like a bad habit. I hope I'm wrong but it's not looking that way.

Vista Drivers for X86(64 bits) in development?

Post by borjalm »

I have recently bought a Zero 8. I have Vista X86(64 bits) and have been searching different websites to see if someone had succeded installing drivers in Vista 64 bits. My conclusion is that way too many customers of the KORG Zero 4 or 8 are demanding from KORG Windows Vista drivers for the 64 bit version.

I heard someone say that they recently they contacted Korg support and they answered saying that they are currently developing X86(64 bits) drivers for Vista and Windows 7.

Can someone confirm this? If so what is the expected release date?

Thanks.

I called Korg numerous amounts of times and they tell me the same thing:
"Nobody here at the Korg in the US knows anything about that" I wrote several times to the Japanese side of the company and have n ot gotten a single reply.

"Korg Inc has tested all Korg equipment and we can now say that all Korg equipment is Windows 7 32 bit and 64 bit compatible, with the following exceptions.:
Zero 4/8: When Zero 4/8 runs except in 44.1 kHz, you cannot use the WDM driver.

Zero Editor: When the "MIDI Input/Output port" parameter is set at "Auto Detect", it may not be launched properly."

I just didn't understand where are drivers?:)

What does that mean? It runs only at 44.1 or it runs in every setting but 44.1?

Are there new Drivers to use, or do current drivers work okay?

Korg Zero Mixers piss on Vista 64bit and now Windows 7.

Post by Reggmail »

:( Oh, we now have 64bit drivers but you can't use them..what the H#@L.
This has been an ongoing begging to Korg to fully support Vista 64bit for three years, and now Windows 7.

Because of the lack of support for the Zero line mixers, I've let my voce be heard by boycotting Korg products line ( Keyboards and everything )

Why buy a car when you cant gas it up, or get an oil change done?

Korg knew about these drivers a few years before we the public found out about Vista 64bit compliancy.

Many other companies are now compliant and have Vista 64bit drivers for their costumers / users of their products.

Korg's just saying ''F%#K Us'' so I say F$$K back.

Why have Vista 64bit drivers for your other product line gear and not for the Zero line mixers, something just don't add up there.

At this point my Zero 8 mixer is a Big Expensive Paperweight when it comes to using it with a midi computer setup.

Shame shame shame on Korg corporation,

The only way to get Korg is to hit them where it hurts $$$$$$$.

Please continue to spread the word and boycott Korg products, I do it every chance I get.

Peace & blessings.
